We already defeated Sheng-long! The Akuma Video Thread

Uh Oh

Tokido using Yun now…

Wonder if he got a new main, or if he’s just experimenting…

Wait what? Since when?

This is the second best Yun player in the Japanese Arcade.

I am finding Akuma has the tools to keep Yun out if you know what you are doing. Getting Yun off of you is a different story.

Make sure you guys watch Bushido Impact this weekend in Paris.
This will be my first tournament sponsored by Shadaloo Fightsticks.

Good luck man! Hope you place well!

Good luck.

He’s been using him since AE was released in Japan.

Is that the only video of him using Yun way back then? I haven’t seen him using Yun at all until Momochi blew him up last weekend. His youtube vids and AE BP indicate he’s been pretty much Akuma exclusively, but maybe he’d been working on Yun/Fei Long on the side.

New Tokido Yun

There’s a few vids of his Yun from AE arcade release in Japan. They knew early on that Yun was good and he has been dabbling with him ever since. I suspect he is ether trying to figure out from the players perspective where Yun is weak or he’s preparing his Yun for a mirror. I hope it’s the former because there is some interesting anti-yun pressure that Akuma does have and I hope Tokido figures out some of this stuff.

gah i hope tokido doesn’t abandon akuma like momochi did :frowning:

Wow. Can’t believe Tokido lost all those matches.

I only watched the Cody matches, but if he did lose all of the matches I bet those are the only ones he lost lol. Evo is a few weeks away so he’s probably not uploading any of his wins in-case he has some new strategies & techniques that he’d like to keep a secret. Mago and Daigo do this all the time, they almost never upload their wins.

Good point. And with Tokido playing as Yun lately, he must be studying the character to prepare a strategy against Yun players.

Anyone can recommend some high level AE Akuma vs sim videos. This is probably one of the matchups i least know since i dont fight many sim players. I saw tokido vs sabin at CEO ones already.
Also some AE sakura/makoto/juri matchup videos would be nice too as I can’t play those very well either.

Thanks!

-6 use of st.HK always amazes me. Sure, he does go overboard (just count how many times he uses it against that Fei lol), but hell if he can combo it.

I jotted down a couple setups lol.

Take a look at the latest videos posted (#3400), the first one with -6 has some decent Sakura matches.

-6 is one of the smartest players i`ve seen in the sf4 series. Not only that but he has gone to a point to almost no players go anymore: developing his own style with the character.

He plays completely different from Tokido or Eita and with the same skill and smart play. The main differences i see with him is the choices of his combos and the choices he makes when he corners the opponents up, he prefers to lock them down with tight footsies rather thank going for straight jumping air fireball. He uses c.mp for almost everything and, not only that, he knows almost all the ranges and characters that the s.hk can combo after a fireball.

I find it curious that one of the things i consider his signature combo (c.mp, c.lp, c.mp) is now being used by Tokido as well.

Another thing that i find funny is that we can see Tokido dropping a lot of tatsu-sweeps, which is pretty normal and he compensates with a lot of skill in other areas. But how many times do we see 6 or Eita dropping that combo? Not many.
