Tokido was a beast yesterday, watched it all.
He was kind of unlucky when it comes down to matchups, Rose and Cammy are arguably two of the hardest Gouki’s matchup…
Still, he handled (actually, ‘destroyed’ is better, given the matchup) Alioune, but he could beat Sako with ease only when he tried switching to U1. Rose’s matchup should get better in AE…
I guess the idea that Alioune’s Cammy would destroy Tokido’s Akuma can be put to rest now.
Just came back from beatby contest where I met Chocolillo for the first time :D.
My team finished 20th and in singles I was top 32 so I can’t complain.

Major tournies definitely do that. When we had our EVO qualifiers in Sydney for the Asia Pacific region we had Daigo in our pools which really shook everyone up. All of our players came away a lot better but we also learned how much we lacked compared to players on Daigo’s level. A year later we had Mago, GamerBee and Tokido at another major tourney which did the same again.
Whats funny though is that everyone levels up after tournies - including the top players - so you have this weird tail chasing thing going on
