Not an Akuma player, but gotta say, LoyalSol’s video series is really well done. Going to be sticking around just to watch some more.

We played a HUGE set, more vids coming.
I thought these matches were really good.

Not an akuma vid… but it is a pretty nice vid of tokido from 07 <3
So what are you guys opinion on who the best Akuma in the US is right now? The 2 guys that stick out for me is ShadyK and Four Wude. IMO those guys are far and away the best 2 Akumas in the US. I just can’t decide which one I like better. I think Four Wude’s execution is much better, but ShadyK has a better track record. What do you guys think?
why not richard? He is one of the best akuma players that i have seen.
The web Hitcombo made an exhibition tournament, My team(the emperor is one of the best fuerte from europe and me) won the tournament. This was just for fun :).
this is the bracket

I lost against starnab but the_emperor won them. after evans beated us and we were in the losser’s bracket. In losser’s bracket, i won vryu and marvel (fuerte player from france).
Then again i had to fight against evans(the best fei from europe). I had to focus more, he is very very good but i won him twice. The guile player was so random i can’t play well against that kind of players.
I think fei’s matchup is 5-5 hmm…maybe fei has a little advantage. He has good tools for escape of our vortex.
Bye
I think best Akuma in the US is one of those things that are very debatable because there isn’t really a clear cut #1 like there is in Japan. There are a ton of good akuma players in the US and each one has their own style. One of the nice things about Akuma is you can play him defensively or aggressive and still be good with him.
Dude, excellent.
Its great to see folks sharing match videos against solid opponents.
I don’t want to seem like I am pissing on a solid performance, but it would be awesome if you slightly delayed part of one of your block strings to net some frame traps. You perform:
jump in > c.lk, cs.lk, c.lp > etc a LOT.
Try replacing that last c.lp with c.mpx2/delayed c.mp or even just tack a c.mp onto the end of the last c.lp. I feel you’d likely start pulling on some nice counterhits to strengthen your up-close game even further and also pull in more damage.
Great battles though. Kudos to the opponent also. Be sure to post more as I found these matches pretty interesting to watch
from that peaceful jay stream seems like your still figuring out how to punish deejay moves.
what are the max best punishment when blocking deejay’s:
the frame data is misleading even though its more than -6 but due do distance or certain awkward landing of deejay after his reversal he always gets away with minimal hurt.
The problem is I do know how to punish his stuff, but the deal is that it is a very tight window and the connection between me and Mike is terrible (I am in the Northwest he is in Florida) so it was difficult to punish some of those moves because they are 1 frame punishes sometimes.
What I suggest is to go into training mode and set up a Deejay to just loop one of his moves and work on punishing them. Most of them are at least SRK punishable if poorly spaced.
just did. not sure how correct it is.
blocked
light sobat(-4 to -6) : distance varies from being totally safe to marginally punishable by s.mp/s.hp
medium sobat(-4 to -7): same issue
hk sobat(-9 almost at all times): roundhouse that shit.
ex sobat(: didn’t test enough.
c.hk hardly ever worked. most deejay don’t really time their sobat they just do it hoping they will get away. getting bit sick of those noob deejay doing it thinking they go unpunished.
also since its at least -4 might as well just walk up and do fs.hk force them into block. if they do anything after light sobat we’ll get a counter.
light up kick(after crouch blocking deejay ends up behind akuma punishment time have to be decently quick, i suggest c.mp into tatsu)
medium/heavy upkick (don’t think any deejay ever used that but if they do u can time a fs.hk combo but the follow up c.lk might whiff due to distance)
ex(normal punish s.hp into bnb)
didn’t test machine gun upper.
since i did the test alone, i can’t be sure how correct i am with all this info. somebody do a better research please. i need to hurry to work.
I finally got some footage of my play, even though its horrible quality lol
I actually held the camera in my hands, so please don’t mind the sudden movements.
Some matches of me and a friend, thanks for all the advice in advance.

P.S Soon i’ll have videos up against my worst matchups, Bison and Balrogs. I’m going to need people to school me on those fights.

You know I wonder when Rog players will learn that maybe it is a good idea to just block.
@gamago
I don’t mind advice we’re all here to learn right?
Normally I try counterhit setups but only against scrubs.
I’m afraid for whatever reason against good players.
I should note for whiffed reversal Jackknife kicks I find c.MK to be the best options for punishing. You can punish with s.HP, but the smaller window makes it more convenient to c.MK and make sure you get the punish.

From Air’s blog: a rematch of SBO 2010 final on SSFIV

You can see Momochi’s Akuma @ 16:09, he seems rusty obviously since his main is Ken since SSFIV, I miss his patient style though, it’s very different from Tokido’s rushdown Akuma, too bad he chose to go for a more footsies based game with Ken now instead of being forced to rely on wakeup mixups with Akuma.
I never really understood the switch based on footsies because Akuma has some pretty solid footsies of his own.
Momochi is (was?) my favorite Akuma player. It was great seeing him wield the Demon once more! He still plays great with him.
I think Momochi stated he made a permanent switch away from Akuma after SSF4 because he wanted to use a character with a ground game focus since Akumas focus had been sent in the oki direction.
