Yea, I don’t get it. What’s wrong with actually playing the game and seeing who the best is? Even the casual audience has to be annoyed.
At least there’s actual gaming involved (FWIW), unlike the real-life challenges. Apparently the show’s producers don’t have enough faith that the games can sell themselves on their own merits. I suppose most of WCG’s audience already knows what the games are about anyway. Here’s hoping the next challenge has some more kinky bondage, or perhaps Hannah in the role of dominatrix, whipping the finalists playing naked under hot candle wax or something–too bad most of the girls got eliminated. 
because if it was straight gaming on TV (and simply just that) the casual audience wouldn’t flock. I personally agree with none of this having shit to do with being a “ultimate gamer”. I get the whole thing of “adapting” during Forza and Splinter Cell but there are a whole lot of different ways to “adapt” in a video game that doesn’t rely on gimmicks outside the game. It’s like watching a kid play games upside down because “he’s able to do it”. Is he a ultimate gamer now? Because I occasionally do random physical shit while I play games. Am I a Ultimate gamer now too?
But it’s all part of the reality TV show nonsense. The fact Pac-Man was the only actual gauntlet game that’s been more on gaming skills rather than physical endurance is somewhat awful.

Ummm yep I saw Forza, and im like “yep i’m pretty much done” tsk tsk but I think I would’ve made it out to splinter cell, I was getting really good times when all of us were playing.

This show was fun to watch but the Forza challenge was straight up stupid. Driving with your feet or handcuffed? That just boils down to who’s the skinniest. If you’re big or have a wide back, good luck trying to even reach the damn steering wheel. That didn’t test anyones “gaming” skills.
They should’ve just gotten a game that hasn’t come out yet and let them battle it out somehow.

I think there are better ways to do some “extreme” gaming challenges. Maybe they should’ve let everyone sit in a dry sauna for an hour, without water, and then have them play immmediately afterward. Or maybe they should’ve forced them to sit in a room for 15 hours and not let them sleep, and then play a game for an hour. Or maybe they could’ve forced the players to do some absolutely grueling physical challenge, and then make them play directly afterward. I think all of those things would’ve been better than some of the weird gimmicks they used. At least the Pac-man challenge was straight up, gimmick free.
Also, did anyone think it was a little ironic that the brand-spanking-new true-3D game was actually a 2D sidescroller?

kat aint even gonna make it out of splinter cell. she don’t even know it’s a tactical game, she called it a shooter. it’s gonna be ceasar vs yaz and ceasar will win the whole thing because he needs it more. judging from yaz’s youtube chan he’s already living pretty well whereas ceasar has to pay for his astronomical gel usage and as well as his GTL. beating up beats does NOT come cheap. not that i’ll be watching the finals since last night’s episode eliminated both reasons i watch the show.
I would like Caesar more if he GTL more. He is not “crazy” enough for me. If he could go into “Situation” status I will root for him. I was hoping all season he just start fist pumping and shit, straight jersey style.

It seems clear that the producers think playing the game straight up isn’t TV worthy. I agree, they should just make them play the game normally. If that’s not an option, then let them still play the game normally, just make them physically exhausted instead of coming up with these stupid barriers like blacking out the screen randomly or making them play games while wearing strait jackets. You’d still get the reality moments where all the gamers can go off about how exhausted they were and how difficult it was to play, blah blah blah. I suppose the visual of playing in restraints was too much for them to pass up.
Or they should of just went with points.
Like 10 point for 1st and 1 point for last.
Whoever has the lowest point at the end of the round get sent packing.
