Realistically we can say soo’s msp is better than shadyK’s, so there is no way he should be on a “top 5 in WC” team when there is OBVIOUSLY someone with a better msp on the WC.

Chunksta’s, Soo’s, Jmar’s MSS is OBVIOUSLY better than deus’s, so again why would he be on top 5 WC when chunksta can beat his??

Duc’s trap does just as well vs. EC if not better (he DID WIN AN EVOLUTION TOURNEY YEAR BEFORE LAST) so why would clockwork’s trap be considered over his?

What team is mike ross using? MST? I’ll money match him for that team. I’ll have someone else cover my bet (no gambling til evo). Blackheart team…not gonna dignify it…Santhrax? I know quite a few people who would gladly match him thrax on thrax…(reset is prolly one of em). Nothing he does is the BEST IN WC, so again why?

Potter…good player, but can anyone say finesse? There was a lil tourney called evo west last year…potter lost to either soo or finesse.

Also noone mentioned Russian Illan…He obviously has that one hit kill syndrome. I bet he’d money match deus, mike ross, shady k or prolly even clockwork, though I do like clockwork over illan cuz strider counters ironman.

Finally the poll is flawed because there are too many teams with too few differences spreading diluting the votes over a few teams because of minor differences. One could prolly give some mathematical graph or something of what the votes look like individually if you divided all the votes on a team into that team’s 5 individuals. You take chunsta for example. He’s mentioned on 9 of the 10 teams. So person A voting for any team excluding one could be saying yeah I like chunksta but not the other folks…that would of course suck cuz someone else could be saying I like chunksta, and one of the folks that person A didn’t like. They both wanted chunk there but not necessarily the other people.

It’s like having a survey of juice vs. soda and asking people to choose between their favorite beverage with a list like.

1.Orange Juice, sprite.
2.Coke and Rum
3.Pepsi, Orange Juice
4.Root Bear, Orange Juice
5.Brisk Iced Tea, ORange Juice.

If everyone loved OJ but some favored sprite over pepsi and so forth yet quite a few liked coke (but not nearly as much liked oj) Coke would win just because the votes were spread. To bring the analogy back in perspective, Chunksta would need to have a following about 9/10 as big as mike ross, in order for a team w/ him to be considered if votes were for him alone vs. mike ross under the current poll.

In the individual polls Soo is at first Duc is in 2nd, chunksta in 3rd. None of them in team 3.

Hmmm you make some good points and I’ll probably get killed for saying this but you make alot of good points. I don’t agree to illan/finesse over the team though. No hate on finesse dude is the homie and mad good but him > potter is a no no right now.

And illan… another not, yes 1 hit kill factor why not just put julius jackson in it?

Deus is the only guy crazy and good enough to win with MSS-Y…
Strider is generally a lot different look than Spiral… if people were going nuts about how awesome Eddie’s trap was, Clock might be the next level.
Iron Man is too random at high levels.
Potter will randomly lose to make other people feel better about themselves. He’s nice like that.

But yeah, this vote style is a little messed up - I like the individual poll more, but it’s still just a poll and people have a tendency to vote with their hearts… since everybody doesn’t get to see everybody playing on any kind of regular/recent basis, most everybody is kind of guessing anyways. =\

From personal experience with all of the players when they were actually playing seriously. I’d say the WC team should be: Chunksta, Duc, Soo, Potter, and JMar. I’m not stating Fan favorites because I’m a fan of no one. However, I’m just being dead honest out of knowing and playing these players personally, and also just overall skill level. I didn’t even know about this 5 on 5, but if this happens, then EC can bring their full force during this event.

We’re not going to overlook WC this time around. :sweat:

Since I don’t have the luxury of people defending my name, I guess I have to do it myself. I hate doing this, but people easily forget my accomplishments. First, let’s start off with my track record:
Arizona champion 4-7 times.
Nor cal Regionals Champion (when row was in attendance) & top 3 at two other NCR tournaments
Texas Showdown 4, Third Place (lost to combo and justin, respectively)
East Coast Championships X, Fifth place (lost to justin and jmar)
Regency Tournaments, 1st place 4-10 times, and top 3 just about every other one
Placed at a million camelot weeklies that had the best competition
Won a bunch of ffa tournies, and top 2 with soomizzle a bunch of other times
Top 2 @ psm (lost to duc twice) & I won another tournament
Now, to the heavyweight accomplishments:
Evo 2k4, 7th place lost to jwong and randy lew
Evo 2k5, 3rd place (yipes/duc)
Evo west, 5th place (soo/finese)
Evo 2k5 Team tournament [tied]First place (Me/Isaac/Deus)
Evo 2k6 Team tourney 4th place (me/jal/isaac) We lost to jmar/justin teams. We beat yipes team/justin’s team in the process.

Honestly, I have not lived up to the standards I set for myself this year. Take it as you want, but just because I had one off year(if you want to call it that) I get no love? LOL. Go watch evo team tournament, and tell me who else beat sanford, and justin in a row. Actually, I graced sanford twice. Also, I beat yipes, erik, and demon hyo. Please don’t talk about how I lost at evo west because, aside from that, I have winning records against everyone listed (that isn’t team 3) except for soo and jmar. And some of those records are landslide numbers in my favor, but lets not get into that. I can understand why people are crowning chunk, since he did have the best year of any wc player, but I did the EXACT same shit last year, lol. Oh, how people forget so easily. Chunk is probably the hottest wc player right now on paper, but if that is all you are basing this on, then by your logic i should be 2nd on the team, since I was the hottest wc player last year, right? The only other player that did nearly that well was duc (evo champ). Aside from me, only other dude who has been dominating the scene with consistent wins is soo.

You can take this post how you like it, but this is TEAM west coast. If you think assembling the “best” five players will work, that’s okay, I guess. In reality, people have different motivations for ec vs. wc now. The rivalry isn’t the same as it once was. Team Three shall take the West Coast to the promise land. That’s all there is to say, I’m not going to list who I think is top 5, or top 10. Team Three is where it’s at. I don’t mind being left out of people’s top 5 or their team west coast, but if you’re going to spit some facts about tournaments and performances, then im going to tell you how I’ve done and how I think it is.

Potter did come to ffa right after that cal poly tourney not same day but less than a week later, and finesse did beat him some odd 8 times in a row. Finesse has beaten potter in tourney during the ranbats. You’re basing potters skill vs. finesse off of ??? Thanks for saying I got good points though. No I’m not saying illan is top 5 in WC, but I’m saying he is equivalent to the players on team 3.

I’m not inducing that because A beat B, that he can beat c. But I am deducing that some of the people I’m mentioning (all of which have experience vs. EC) are much better players than the others based off their ability to perform well. Better player = more likely to win.

Soo might not have beaten shady k in tourney but how many times have they played and how many YEARS, note: YEARSSSSS has it been since they’ve played? You wanna say shadyk can beat yipes? We’re talking two msp players. If shadyk isn’t at the top of his game (which he isn’t right now) yipes will eat him alive, cuz yipes still plays. I haven’t seen soo play lately, but even when he takes a break from ffa, he comes back and still beasts, so I know he doesn’t lose it all. ANd I’m quite sure he’d start playing before evo to get good.

And to deus:
Whenever you guys wanna bring clock to ffa to be humbled I will gladly do the honors. Soo would as well. Heck I know ffa folks will back his money if he wasn’t willing (though I’ve NEVER seen him turn down a money match). Chunk would rape him prolly, I’ve never seen him turn down a money match either. If you’re not using mss drones what are you using?

I give you your props. If you notice I haven’t said one thing about you being negative. Just that finesse beats you pretty consistently. IMHO you are the only person from team 3 that even deserves consideration w/o a tourney held specifically for this event. Yes you have performed well in the team tournies for the last two evo’s. Props for that. EVO 2k6 a lot of people didn’t even enter that tourney.

Others beat justin and them during the tourney as well. Chunk did I thought. Correct me if I’m wrong.

again you must mean two years ago. Last year did occur, so that would be the most up to date year to base everything off of.

Which is why soo is listed on 9/10 teams.

If you as an individual can’t focus on the matter at hand “EC VS. WC” not “potter & friends vs. EC” then you would prolly do better challenging team ec OUTSIDE of the EC vs WC thing as its more than just you and friends you would be representing in that title match.

dude ffa sticks were bunk when i went. My short kick was coming out 50% of the time. And it wasn’t 8 in a row, maybe 4. Four wins in casual? Man, I haven’t played serious in casual in about 3 years. Get at me when its tournament time. I know Finesse is your boy, and I feel he has improved A LOT since evo, but to say that he is better than me is pretty bold. I understand where you are coming from, though; I feel that deus/finese are the brightest stars on the wc going unseen, and its a shame. Where is your evidence for finesse being better than me? Evo-west? What about all the other tournaments i’ve played against him @ family? Do you erase those victories of mine?

I guess i have to humble dudes with my stats:
Me vs. chunk; 9-2 me (most of these were 4/7 or 3/5 tournament finals)
me vs. finese; 6-1 me
me vs. chris s; 5-0 me
me vs. row; 1-0 me
me vs. duc; 3-3 or 4-4 tie
me vs. jmar; 0-1 jmar
me vs. soo; 5-16 soo
me vs. reset; this i don’t know, but i used to grace him easily before he got good, then he had my number for a while, but now its probably even if not in my favor.

Yeah, so there you have it. I would like you to do me a favor and focus on the first two numbers. No offense to chunksta, i think hes an okay player, but I have his number. He is not seeing me. never has, and probably never will. And if you want to crown him because he has had a hot year remember that even on his best year playing the game i still graced him at two tournies (if not more), hard body. Also, finesse is nice, and probably one of the best casual players around, but in touraments i have the edge. Note: all the times i defeated finese it was in his own backyard. And, Please don’t even try to say I’m hating on chunk, because I’m not. Real recognize real.

And this isn’t about potter & friends. These guys are legitimate players that deserve a shot @ team wc. Clock has placed top 8 and is og god, so has shady and he’s an og god, bill, like finese, is the truth and a half, mike ross is fucking godlike too. I would write more about team 3 players, but i think their track record speaks for itself.

Wow those are crazy statistics and on paper based off of those stats alone you are definitely deserving to be on the team (Which I’ve never refuted). Also, finesse beat you more than once in tourney. I’ve witnessed it myself twice at the ffa ranbats, and once at evo west. WHich 6 tournies are you referring to, because I’m quite sure he’s up on you on the tournies no offense. Although these statistics are flawed as they could be referring to some matches back in 01 as far as we know also they aren’t verified [note: I’m not sayin they’re false]. You can’t say the 9-2 was vs. chunk 2k6, nor most other stats so these stats can’t be conclusory.

Where are the stats that would support Mike Ross being god-like?

OG god is irrelevant. Row was OG deity as well as soo, and rowtron, so they should have spots over the others too. Also I agree you prolly do have the edge over finesse in tournies, though I think he can take you now that he has his confidence. Next ranbat will be a bring your own stick so we can see whats really good.

man your memory must not be that great if you think finese has the advantage. I beat him @ the two ranbats I went to (3-0, in the first one, that amir won(you can check the video footage), and i beat him in the second one, he did a random switch-out to commando, and I won 2-1[this also has video footage]). I beat him at like 4 tournies before evo [last year], which were all at ffa. Including one at winnetka (the first time I met him). He only has beat me in tourney: evo west. That’s it. No other tournaments. lol.
Okay fine, you can disregard 6-7 of those wins on chunksta, but i did go 2-0 against him in 06 (james games and psm[both of which are on video]). I’m not sure if the tournament I played him in family was in 06 or 05, I won’t count it (I won that too). You don’t need to prove anything to me about finese, I know how good he is, and I respect his game a lot. You don’t need to convince me on him, I’m already a fan (no homo).

I don’t keep track of other players stats, only mine.
