WAZZZZZZZZUPPPPPP! - The Martin Thread

What happened?

Martin did something to make Tisha file a sexual harassment lawsuit. I think it was a lawsuit. could have been just a complaint. There was also general stuff like, as mentioned before, Martin going off the handle with drug abuse.

Anyway, the result of it all was that Martin and Tisha had to shoot their scenes separately. As in, no scenes with Martin and Gina in the same room. Even when Martin and Gina were in their apartment, Gina was talking off-screen. Wow, that felt weird just to type.

I remember reading in Jet (lol Jet magazine…do they still make that??) about her saying something about Martin slipping tongue in too much.

You can tell that the chemistry with the whole cast just dies mid season.

It’s amazing how obvious it is that something is wrong.

Wow… awkward… did they make up?

Well, I was a kid the last time I watched the show on the regular, so I didn’t really notice the disconnect. I did, ironically, have a coincidential lack of interest in the show. It got worse, according to you guys, but I was pulled away by stuff other than that.

Edit: Yeah, they seem to have made up. I remember a BET comedy awards show from years ago where they seemed to be on amicable terms. I think Tisha presented an award to Martin.

Oh man… I’d stop what I was doing outside when my mom would yell at me out the window that Martin was on. After that whole harrassment suit fiasco, I watched Martin less and less.

Ms. Trinidad: You know what tho? Your ears got smaller!
Martin: Yea, well…other things got bigger…

Favorite episodes include:
-Rev Love ripping off his congregation, including Martin’s momma, then getting set up on tape and subsequently knocked the fuck out by Gina
-Martin meeting Gina’s parents for the first time
-Martin helping Gina’s co-worker give birth
*LMAO : Tommy: Wait a minute, Martin…where’s the umbilical cord?
Martin: Dammit, Tommy! We don’t need no umbilical cord! Looks at monitor THIS IS TV!
*Note: that episode also introduced Elroy, the mechanic.
“Donchu know no gooooooooooooooooooooood…”

Who remembers the Making a Movie ep where Martin and Gina were taping themselves screwing, but they kept getting phone calls?

Having just watched the entire thing throughout the course of the day, it’s not as bad as I was making it out to be.

The eps without Gina are hit and miss. Some are really good (the court ep), but the ones that are bad are terrible (the cruise eps).

 thats some funny shit

Fuck her! She the one that killed the show…literally.

What’s the deal with folks comparing Tracy Morgan’s character in 30 Rock to Martin? Although he’s funny in 30 Rock, he doesn’t come close to Martin like Bow Wow vs. Jay-Z in a rap battle.

Who would have been a better choice?

I was saying that in a literal sense.

=)

Probably an In Living Color star or guest would have sufficed during those times. Mostly because of their joke ability. Martin probably chose her because he was familiar with the territory. Martin Lawrence and Teisha Campbell haven’t shown any previous chemistry before Martin, even though they have both co-starred in the epic African American Comedy Movie, *Boomerang, *alongside Chris Rock, Eddie Murphy, Robin Givens(probably a potential person for the role of Gina), and David Allen Grier. Anybody from ILC could have replaced Gina’s actress.

Literally, yes, fuck her. Just not now: Teisha’s jacked up.

What does that mean? She’s buff like Chyna? Or she’s bloated?

?

does anyone remember hustle man? that dude was funny as hell. i like the

episode where hustle man tried to sell martin the pigeons on a stick.

"pick up the pieces...i say pick up the pieces"

Hell yeah. Hustle man was funny as hell.

Martin (from my fav episode where they try to find out where Tommy works): Hustle man, if you don’t get your tulip-sellin ass away from here…step!

From the unpaid rent episode

Hustle Man: I got a special on some free-range chicken.

Martin: what the hell is free-range chicken?

Hustle Man: for me it was free. For you it’ll cost the range of 15 dollas.

no, big…

OMG  I remember this!

nigga had a saxophone with one of them kazoo things taped to it. That big-lipped lady from brownstone was on that episode.
