I agree with you there about the art in SF. I wouldn’t really want it to change either. I like the style that they are drawn. I was just saying that a bunch of Marvel artists did copy lee’s artwork during the 90’s. Yeah Silvestris art did look similar to Lee’s though.
Its not nessisarly a sloppyness issue but issue 7 whats up with backgrounds? I mean the characters themself are clean lines and stuff but as you gradually go farther and farther through the issue. The backgrounds get less and less detailed tillt eirs just like sketches colored. Like page1 you got a pretty nice background though its weird the artist sketched in the bulletholes tahts really the inkers ob then you go to sumtin like page 20 with fei long. Look at the first panel . Fei long is all clean but the backgrounds are essentially sketches and they used a big friggen pencil. This like i said is not nessiarily a sloppyness issue but its jsut rreally odd.
Jim Lee cpoying Silvestri? C’mon! Yeah that’s why we never hear about Mark anymore. They don’t even draw alike.
Hmm actually if you look at early Jim Lee (Alpha Flight) and early Silvestri (X-Factor) which looks more like the modern Jim Lee? Silvestri does. I still remember looking at that Cpt. America cover with the Punisher next to Cap and thinking (hmm Jim Lee really has come along!) - and maybe it was because he got a few tips from the Marvel Stable. Who knows. But they are both great, and know knows what could have happened with Wetworks if Silvestri could meet deadlines - at least as popular as Wildcats imho!
