Ok but I mean are they having an argument or why is he saying that three-punch-knock-out thing? The guy holds his arm like he’s about to punch him.
Yes they’re arguing, hence it says “quarrel-picking Bison.” It’s what Bison’s done all his life, picking fights, talking and sticking his nose when he probably shouldn’t, fortunately his boxing can back back him out of most scrapes. He’s now lecturing the guy about women while being at least a little plastered.
Thank you very much for explaining, just wanted to make sure I get it.
Really helpful and nicely put; I have a much better understanding now thanks to you, but blessedly, narrative-wise, this knowledge isnt going to cause me too many retroactive changing problems. As for Tas, yeah, Im glad Im not alone in the matter. I sent him a PM, courteously explaining my question and then another - again courteously - asking for a yes or no answer either way with regards to him helping me. Hes ignored both, and while theres possibly an excuse for the patent rudeness, based on his reputation as a bit of a shit Im forced to lean towards the likelihood that hes an arrogant arse. I try to judge people here individually rather than how the forum views them, but I think his refusal to answer a plea for help is fairly selfish, and probably quite telling of him.
Moving on, theres still something Im a little unclear about. If the SnH is the true nature of Ansatsuken and Goutetsus teachings - unleashed, how is Ryu able to tap into it, given that he studied under Gouken who would have withheld those lessons? Is the nature of the SnH such that Ryus determination to win a battle results in him subconsciously transforming his taught style/moves into techniques that kill?
I was just browsing the latter pages of this thread and you guys are talking about CFJ quotes. Huh? CFJ has character to character quotes?
Why, thank you, vasili10. I look forward to da rest.
Yep.
SnH was hardly a lesson. It is recorded that Gouken and Gouki witnessed their master immersed in it once, without it even named to them, Gouki wholly embraced it, and Gouken viewed it as a poisoning of the power of hadou later on after Goutetsu died. The key to tapping it is thinking only of fighting and becoming stronger without regards to anyone or anything else, resulting in becoming willing to go as far as fight to kill; that what Gouki’s been about most of his life, and that’s the barrier Ryu crossed for a brief moment to scar Sagat.
So to your last question from above, yes. Such is SnH’s nature.
Glad to be of help. You’re welcome everyone. :china:
Agent Guile - Under my net name SRKSANO, you can check out all of the CFJ quotes vasili10 has translated under our Bio/Quote translation Faq.
http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/game/920737.html
Vasili10 - Great stuff as usual, the part about Chun-Li’s bracelets was very interesting. When I send you the next batch of stuff requested (Originally I said tommorow but I don’t think that’s going to work, by the weekend or so) I’ll send you Demitri’s quotes, if it’s possible for you to translate Ryu and Demitris quotes and vice versa, that way we can have at least one quote for every CFJ character. I’ll toss in Ingrid being in SFZ3 Double Upper in the Q & A Ingrid part too for now and keep an eye out to see if she recieves any new story in that game. Is it possible that you can tell everyone what you told me what All About SFZ2 Alpha says about Sakura’s second player outfit? After you said that I noticed that ‘that’ outfit is her second player outfit in CFJ too.
A few things.
This came up in the SF Art Thread. Here’s vasili10’s old scan of Ojou-san, I’m just putting it back here since the old attachments on this thread are gone and here’s a back up, you can use this link if you want to show the image around if you want.

And also in E-Mails to each other vasili10 has requested I go through some old Gamest Issues looking for any SF storyline info. Anyway, here’s a funny one we came across, I’m kind of reminded of it seeing how it looks like Ingrid got more cleavage in her SFZ3 Double Artwork. This page compares all of the female SFZ3 characters… breast sizes! The Dolls are all shown and then in text it goes through the rest of the SFZ3 female cast, lol!

Again, thank you. Particularly helpful.
Sure thing.
From AASFZ2A and AAC, special colored Sakura in SFZ2A and Zero 2 Dash was a palette swap made simply to fulfill a fan’s request to depict her with white panties instead of red or colored bloomer shorts. Even the books themselves have a (?) next to this note.
Ok ok wait a minute. SFZ2A that’s Street Fighter Zero 2 Alpha ok? And in the US it’s Street Fighter Alpha 2 Gold (sigh). But now what’s “Zero 2 Alpha Gold”?!
My mistake. Alpha 2 Gold for the US is Zero 2 Dash in Japan. Good eye aerialgroove. Making edit above. Edit made.
Here are some pics vasili10 sent me from a doujinshi by Yoshizaki Mine, to quote vas - “He’s done quite a few covers for various SF manga titles, and some stories as well. One of his stories in a SFZ manga anthology (different book from the one pictured) talks about how Ken parts with his SFZ ponytail. Anyways, think the artist’s style is similar to the way the SVZ OVA is drawn?” To me it seems more like Masahiko Nakahira’s stuff with some more Bengus thrown in, but that’s me. Any other opinions?

Gen is shown as being a contrast of sorts to Gouki in many respects. Killing for him is as much an art as it is a business after all.
I’m purely speculating but I think there is a reason WHY Gen (and only Gen thus far) knew the way to defeat the SGS was because of that contrast.
We know Gen also channels ki like most SF’ers, unlike most however he doesn’t use it in ‘flashy’ ways such as in projectiles and so on.
I would speculate that Gen’s source of ki is similar to that used in Goutetsu’s but not the same, which would explain why he and no other character he may have taught or influenced, shows signs of the SnH. And it may also explain Gen knew what the SGS was and how to defend himself.
Could you post a more accurate translation of the SF quotes you say Capcom of America mesed with?
Vasili10, I thought it was Zero 2 Alpha in Japan.
Golden Dragon, I think the cover and backside are intended to look like Bengus’ art because that was the current official art of the SF games.
One speculation of mine is that Gouken could defend against the SGS also. We know that Gouki killed him, but we don’t know how, as opposed to Goutetsu which was stated the SGS did him in. With Gouken and the kanji for “Mu” or “nothing” on the back of his gi, he was about as polar opposite to Gouki as you can get, so I’m fantasizing Gouki had to overpower him to kill him, which is what Gouken warns Ryu and Ken about back when they’re young and they see Gouken and Gouki fight, which Gouken wins that time. He says to them to beware when that man becomes stronger than me.
Sure I’ll post some of the quotes a little later together with the rest of the arcade flyer intro’s.
Studio Udon is going to show the Gouki(Akuma) vs. Gouken fight in the next arc, we’ll see how they handle it, weither or not Gouken is killed by the SGS.
Oh yeah, the Hong Kong SVC Chaos comic issue #2 will be in stores tommorow in the US in case you didn’t know.
It is, and we were both correct for that one. Here’s the confusing breakdown:
Zero 2 Alpha - arcade machine in Japan, never made it to the US
Zero 2 Dash - Playstation and Saturn updated version of Zero 2 Alpha in Japan, major difference is the addition of Cammy
Alpha 2 Gold - US version of Zero 2 Dash
My mistake was I forgot Zero 2 Alpha had another name change for home systems (from Alpha to Dash), and I remembered the US version was called Alpha 2 Gold and thus made up Zero 2 Alpha Gold to make it different from the arcade game’s name.
BTW, did you mean Bengus’ art from the doujin scan? Or am I just thinking of something else?
Didn’t early rumour state that Gouken was thrown over a waterfall, and that his body was never found?
I finally got my books from Japan including the “Fan Book”, I love it! I’ll list the rest later. Happy Happy!
I meant the posted manga (one of the best by the way) is SUPPOSED to look like the original Bengus art, that’s all I was saying.
