Hey sano,vasili10,aerialgroove,golden dragon and tiamatroar, have I got something new and cool on SF (mainly though on SF Third Strike). The man over at my first home on the net,Iggy, has posted this really interesting link straight from Capcom, and it has a lot of tidbits on SF and CFJ.Special thanks to him for the link.Sadly,I know a little bit of Japanese, but I rely on Babelfish for the translations, and so,I always get shit,so can anyone translate the page. This would be great for all of us,especially for the next update of the only true SF plot guide.Looking forward for the response. Thanks in advance, keep up the work all five of you and see y’all later. BTW,here’s the link:http://www.e-capcom.com/puchi_capu/puchi_capu_014/index.html

Cool Link! What’s up with that arrow between Lee and Yun and Yang? Does it answer the question of their blood relationship or does it just say ā€˜related?’

Those Swimsuit Models are cool. Looks like they aged Sakura so she can fill out a Bikini, LOL! You can see a Ponytail behind her head. Looks like Sakura can only age in Masahiko Nakahira’s Manga and Model figures, HA! HA!

Iggy said that it basically says that Yang Lee, Yun Lee, and ā€œLeeā€ are of the same family and that’s it.

My computer at home is completely fucked up and I’m only allowed one hour a day on the Internet at my library, so I’m just gonna lay down the facts and ignore anything Dragon said.

  • There was an article at Gamespot a few years ago that stated Capcom announced SF4’s development (either at E3 or TGS, can’t remember). Whether it’s still there in the archives or not, I don’t know. But I know I’m not the only one who saw it, and that would include a few people that go to this thread. It was posted at FGD and a few other people made a speculation thread like they do with any other game. But with more and more new people registering for this site by the thousands, it’s no surprise it was long since forgotten.

  • TAS already provided us with useful info regarding SF canon like where Makoto’s design came from, what Capcom stated about the characters’ movements in the SFA anime partaining to canon, and other minor details I can’t remember. All of that was thrown in the Plot Guide, and nobody refuted it. He also argues nonstop with idiots at S-C.com concerning canon and other stuff like where Sammy’s employees came from, and where Rock Howard’s design originally came from. He was right about everything so far, so he’s got more credibility than a lot of people here. He mostly talks about rumors, so of course if you still don’t believe any of this, you can quit debating and test him yourself.

THERE. I said it. No arguments. No flames. I’m out.

Yes, that makes (even) more sence than my speculation.

I know but many many still believe that it’s meant seriously and I hope Siegfried prints that it’s just a joke character, I remember on the European Capcom formu they wouldn’t believe me and started a huge discussion.
I also want to add that while Go just had a tengu mask in his first designs, he later didn’t wear a mask anymore, it is his actual face (could be added to the plotguide but since he’s not part of the plot it doesn’t matter), this can be seen in Gamest Mook/All About/Versus Books of SFZ2.
Even if they show different characters, the b/w drawing proofes that Go was a Muay Thai fighter like it’s also said in the Plot Guide.

I’d really like to know, maybe it’s in the credits?

I see. Thanks, vasili10.

Tiamat
Who’s Iggy?

Yep, relatives. The arrow says nothing more. And that’s pretty much what the page has for storyline purposes.

It looks like they’re giving away a set of SF3 publications sometime, including the Capcom secret files, and some other pamphlets. Someone really needs to scan the 3S file for the Arcade Flyer Archive and the rest of us. And they show lots of other merchandise, and a main focus on Street Fighter III release history, plus more shots of CFJ. Did you want something specific translated snkneoshingo2k4?

Iggy’s a guy who constantly Posts at the Bulletin Boards at MMCAFE. He’s really fast with providing info and stuff like giving everybody up to the minute info on the CFJ Beta test.

As far as TAS goes -

I have nothing but love for the guy, but the way I rank info regarding Capcom of Japan goes like this -

  1. Presedents, Vice Presidents of Capcom of Japan - Sure, they prolly all got their heads up their Asses trying to figure out how to make the next buck, but at least if you kidnap one and tie them to a chair they could point you in the right direction of who to ask.

  2. Producers, Executive Producers, writers, Storyline People, etc. - These are the people who in theory SHOULD know the Storyline, inside info, etc. I’m not sure they always know what’s going on but eh…

  3. The people who actually make the Games - Software, Hardware, Sprite Designers, etc. The influence they have can reach all the way to the people above.

  4. Artists who are not involved in the Game Making - Also have the ability to influence the above. Some of these guys help out in designing Sprites too, but not all so I’ll keep them seperate.

  5. Erik Ko - Editor of the SF Comic, works with all of the above, tells us the truth regarding SF4 flat out telling us Capcom is not too confident in 2D Fighters.

  6. 10,000 or so other Employees working for Capcom of Japan - Well, they are working for Capcom of Japan so maybe they’ll hear something good one day.

  7. Game Testers - TAS’s Friends. By the time info trickles down to these guys, it HAS to be a rumor or rumory. Not saying that what they hear won’t be true, but you should know some of this stuff should be taken with a grain of Salt.

  8. TAS, Iggy, Saiki - People who have a lot more access to Capcom of Japan than I do or ever will. So I do believe when TAS does provide info on Makoto’s design and stuff, stuff that’s in the past I believe him. But with anything regarding SF4 by the time it trickles down to him it should not be regarded as Bible and he usually points this stuff out himself but he is SWEARING SF4 will come out in 2008 and no one can predict what a Company will do 4 years from now I don’t care who you are. No offense to TAS, I really like the guy, he’s a nice person, salt of the Earth and so forth.

  9. Really Hardcore Capcom Fanbase that puts me to shame.

  10. Ten Billion other people on the Planet Earth.

  11. Crapcom USA

  12. Me.

Hope I didn’t offend anybody, that’s just the way I calls it.

TAS… seems like a nice enough fellow, and I’m quick enough to trust him, but he was SERIOUSLY WRONG about Ryu’s brother Shun in the Alpha anime being an actual Capcom character just because he appeared in that Capcom mahjong game (wrong about that character in that game being Shun, that is. Which… makes me wonder if he’s right about Shun being owned by Capcom too but eh)

But… everyone makes mistakes every once in a while, so… eh.

Ok, here’s what I found.

AASFZ2: the caption under the pic says two people were in charge for Sagat. I couldn’t make out any names, messy writing.

AASFZ: Says main person in charge was Kawakami. Second one is Masaaki.

Playing SFZ2, names in ending credits: Seigo ā€œUshiā€ Kawakami and Masaaki are listed under Object Design.

Speaking of TAS, I visited snk-capcom.com and in one of the threads, he says that Ryu and Ken dropped out of the SF2 tournament after fighting one another. Is there any truth to that?? Thanks.

vasili10, the line below is the first sentence in Ryu’s official Third Strike bio. Could you look at it? I just wanna make sure I translated it correctly in the Plot Guide.

??A??EB

Many, many, many thanks. Peace.

Thank you!

Regarding Nuah Kahn I just realized how much I forgot from the Plot Guide already.

Annoying question #386
Chun-Li shows up in SFIII NG or SFIII 2I or both as an easter egg, right?
Is she the one in the bath house level in the water? I saw a pic of a long haired woman in AASFIII NG but wasn’t sure what it’s all about. Thanks.

Annoying question #387
Does Capcom officially exist within the SF universe? I mean the company Capcom, either as a video game company or something else. You often see the Capcom logo in game backgrounds or on that one truck in SFIIAM. Just curious if there ever was an official statement about it or if it’s just easter eggs.

AAC doesn’t say about them dropping out, probably before the times. I’ll check in SF Eternal when it comes.

The sentence: Gone through tens of thousands of battles, Ryu has met countless fists head-on. (more or less)

You’re welcome.

Answer #386:
Yes, in both. In the hot springs with the group of three close together, Chun Li’s to the left and Felicia and Lin Kurosawa are to the right.

Answer #386:
Yes, if nothing else as the CWA (Capcom Wrestling Association) noted in Super Muscle Bomber.

You’re welcome.

Thanks a lot vasili10. Btw, were you serious about me asking the RC webmaster 'bout the Yamato Nadeshiko sprite? Just to let u know I asked him that (among other things) in my most recent e-mail to him. Unfortunately, it’s been a few days and he hasn’t responded yet. I guess he’s been busy.

Definitely. As I posted a few pages ago, I’m almost certain I’ve seen it in action before, but no idea how to replicate it.

One thing I hope to happen (but probably won’t) in SF Eternal is to include many one-time or sub-characters within the SF universe that aren’t covered in AAC. Examples:

-Nuah Kahn (haven’t found him yet, if anyone has let me know)
-Ojou-san (of course everyone saw her coming, ok brief unconfirmed phrase in AAC but you get the idea)
-Yamato Nadeshiko
-Vega’s master the psycho power user (briefly mentioned in Vega’s SFDT entry; at one time speculated to be Gouken, not joking)
-Georges Ginzu’s blue blob if it ever had a name

Any others?

Bottom line: AAC’s encyclopedia is excellent in listing characters and cameos as long as they are directly or indirectly referenced in the games. Here’s one: Fei Long’s in SFZ2, Dan’s stage Hong Kong.

Laters.

Thanks for your replies, vasili10!

Does anybody have Eternal Challenge? Just saw this pic,

on the right side there is a drawing of Relento and I believe Hollywood and El Gado, too. What game is that one from?

Random & minor SF1 shit:

Birdie
Birdie was undefeated/well-versed in boxing and pro wrestling, but got tired of both sports because of the lack of competition and became a bar bouncer. That would explain why his SF1 stage is set in front of a bar.

Retsu
Every Japanese SF-related website I go to says he was kicked out of the Shaolin temple for fighting too much.

Mike
He got kicked out of boxing for killing an opponent during a match.

Correction, bitches!
Vega (spaniard) was born in January, not July. The plot guide says he was born in July.

EDIT
Somebody plz say something!!! ANYTHING!!! I’m sooo lonely!!!

Yeah, thanks. Man, AAC doesn’t give ANY details on what happened during the SF2 tournament? Shit. TAS says he doesn’t remember exactly where he heard it and that it’s probably in AAC. According to you, it’s not. I’ll take yer word over TAS’.

Ok, so is the big Udon surprise revealed yet? If the Living Room Games RPG is going to credit the plot guide, I’m all ears.
