Valerie Solanas isn’t some “random” who “appropriated” feminism for her own ends, she is one of THE important feminist thinkers, along with people like Andrea Dworkin and Betty Friedan(who criticized feminist excesses, but did not pretend Solanas/Dworkin weren’t feminists.)

No matter what kind of movement or cause you have you’ll always have people trying to pretend any unsavory views are the “uncorrect” interpretation while the views held to be “good” are the correct ones. That’s similar to people in the Bible pretending the Old Testament is not part of the Bible, or arbitrarily choosing what pieces to interpret depending on their own view points. While I don’t disagree with not following the odious passages of the Old Testament, pretending those aren’t part of the Bible is being disingenuous at best and deceitful at worst. You may not like Solanas’ writings, but they are most definitely a part of Feminism.

Now Friedan was against the shooting and didn’t want the National Organization of Women associated with Solanas’ rampage, yet one of her own acolytes and apprentices fully rallied behind Solanas. Friedan condemned their actions yet didn’t pretend they weren’t part of the Feminist movement, which is a much more honest position I can respect then your bullshit attempt to scrub Feminism clean of any of the negative elements or “corrupters”.
