I like to think I know how to play breakers but I just play random divekick Sho or throw those godly shurikens from Saizo.

lol when I first picked up Breakers, I used Sho because he reminded me so much of Ryo Sakazaki with his Zanretsuken. That dive kick is crazy good, can be canceled into his super aerial fireball.

I hate fighting Saizo though, damn Shuriken spam is annoying and eats every other projectile in the game.

@matt, if arc system did do a kof game, that would be awesome! the technicality would be great!

I don’t blame snk, I mean they’ve been up and down financially since the 90’s anyways, and I know there would always be a fanbase for kof, they never really pushed the envelope. I mean like at the cvs series, capcom did it right, and then when it was snk’s turn, that piece of shit game, made me want to bomb snk headquarters. lol.

I mean they always had that arcade appeal, but then after awhile, shit got so expensive, and then it became cliche, I know they stuck with what work, but in the long run it hurt them since they could have been better, but I guess if they do that, there is hope for a cvs 3 after all.

lol SvC Chaos. Surprisingly another critical failure of a game that somehow still gets some play and has it’s fans. SNK fans are known to love even the worst fighting games fom a gameplay, balance and competitive standing point, I’m proof of it. I play Karnov’s friggin Revenge. That game is ass. But I keep going back to it…

I’d love to see a CvS3, hopefully a bit more balanced than 2. Gotta give Capcom credit for bringing in Ryuhaku Todoh though. Shame on SNK for keeping him out of their games.

I have Art of Fighting for the snes. Todoh was so badass he only had 1 freaking move. If you beat the game on easy or something they show you the character’s super moves and his was just a bigger wave.

To svc’s credit they had demetri, mmz zero, and red arremer. I like mmz zero better than his x counterpart because he just felt way more badass in the zero games with all the crazy shit he got like the boomerang shield and chain whip (though I think in svc he could only spin it). And demetri I actually love to hate because I eat lemon cradles for breakfast in vsav. Even though he obviously wasn’t firebrand from demon crest, with his goofy moves such as sending a fly wave out and all, it was nice to see different characters in a crossover.

If they do make one more kof game, I actually like to see May Lee and Angel again. Even though I’m utterly garbage and have nowhere the execution to use these 2 crazy characters, I like to mash and think I know how to do something. Though I heard about something like, the design of the characters were outsourced to someone and that’s why you don’t see them more/ I don’t really care for k9999 because he was a tetsuo ripoff.

edit: digging around here it is. Though it is wikipedia. But I heard it first a few months ago from an srker.

GG’s to SixMachine in Garou and Breakers. Pretty good stuff.

That was the hypest evo I have ever watched.

12 hours of watching that from beginning to end, was worth it!

Although I wish I could have went this year, I feel like I could have went far, and I want to face perfect legend’s kung lao against mine. Maybe next year.

That was a good Evo. Man, did Daigo ever get bodied! I’m glad Poongko didn’t just dominate the entire roster though, cuz then he’d be the new Daigo, but the way it went, it left a lot of room for diversity among the top players. No one was hands down dominant. Dave, sorry I couldn’t stick around to play last night, but I’m down to play anytime. I just had to run, literally, I got out of the shower and saw your msg on the screen, figured I’d play a game, but ran into some problems and I was so late as it was, I just had to pass. Next time though, for sure.

Evo was definetly fun to watch this year so much going on and ssf4 ae left alot of people stunned. I’m hoping to see more diversity now due to players like poongko showing top tier characters do not always result in wins.

The players at evo showed clearly that AE doesn’t need a patch.

All the crying and whining, for nothing, those that are demanding a patch, have no skill, since the performances last night were top notch and proved that. I mean people thought that it was going to be a swarm of yun’s in the finals, but look at what happened, diago got defeated, poongko got defeated, the list goes on. It’s how you play, rather than who the character is.

People are going to bitch hard body when the patch comes out, and even though it’s free, they will act like they paid for it.

Out of curiosity, are there any meetings at RIT? I live in Orange County, NY but am going to transfer to RIT this fall and was wondering where the fighting game gatherings usually are.

Sure are! Weekly sessions at EGS (Electronic Gaming Society) from 8 to 11PM on Wednesday. We’ll play AE, Marvel, probably BB as well.

Good to hear. Do you guys play on Xbox or PS3 because I have a stick for Xbox.

Setups will be around for both usually. If you’re gonna play on PS3, there will be plenty of sticks around to use (mine included).

Mr. Flux is right, what he didn’t mention, is that your life won’t be the same after you come to one of these meet-ups, when you meet our resident hypster lololololol.

What major/year are you? When you get there you will most likely see a bunch of posters for EGS with like mario and shit on them. That’s where we meet  The first EGS will most likely be September 7th for those of you who miss it so much.

Anyway hope everyone’s summer has been going well! I think I’m going to start play AE a little more serious now that Sagat is gdlk. I did pretty well in a local tournament yesterday and the hype at evo also gave me that AE itch. And I’m thinking about buying marvel because it dropped 20 bucks at gamestop when UMVC3 was announced.

I can’t wait for EGS to start back up again, been so boring this summer with nothing but GGPO and Supercade to entertain me, I’ve missed playing with real players. I’ll definitely be bringing KOF13.

I’m looking forward to weekly sessions again. I’ll be back up two weeks from this Friday. =D

PS Yannick, any word on the Cyberstorm series? I’m going to amend my vote from saying Marvel to saying Marvel + AE, we really should be running both games (if we can arrange it with Cyberstorm).

Hype from EVO brought me back. I think I’ve learned how the whole thing goes from last time, but I’m still lacking some experience vs. people since I can not convince any of my friends to join in cause they think mac is the better gaming platform; typical mactards. Are there ever any casuals that I could play to step up my game and find a few new sparing buds at? Cause without this, I don’t think my young tournament life is going to go anywhere.

@flux: If we start running AE, what would be the preferred console? I’ve got a gaming laptop (Hold on, keep reading) that runs the PC version of AE at optimal speed and works with most 360 and Ps3 sticks. I heard the PC version has flaws but I’m not able to find them on the internet.

I really hoped that Daigo would have switched back to Ryu once he realized that Poongko was unbeatable with Yun. I really think Daigo is better with Ryu than he is with Yun, at least from all the games I’ve watched him play. It would have been cool to see if he busted out his tried and true and made a comeback. I’m not a Daigo lover or hater, but I do appreciate the fact that he’s an amazing player, a humble guy who doesn’t get all upset when he loses and doesn’t talk shit when he wins. It would have been cool to see Poongko win, or, at least a non Japanese player.
