@Everyone - Reminder to all that tomorrow night will, I will be hosting our first official MvC3 ranbat.
Signups start at 8 (or whenever I can get my ass there which will be around that time) and matches will start at 9:00PM or earlier depending on the faces that show up. Hopefully we will have enough stations provided. It seems PS3 is the most prominent system as a majority. So I will try to steal some PS3 setups.
Note: I’ll be making a post tomorrow on the blog about more information during my break in between classes!
Yeah it’s tough here cuz the Rochester folks have never really been a single group. It’s been different depending on the game and school year, and school often and understandably takes over so group consistency has never been there. There have been good guys bringing people together in the past but like me, they’re all out of school and focused on their careers now.

Many of you saw me post this on Facebook, but for those of you that I’m not friends on FB with, EGS will be holding a mini fighting game tournament featuring Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and BlazBlue. I have no idea which version of BB or what consoles they will be using. So dust off your copies of BB and get to practicing. 
Details: Saturday, April 2nd @ 12:00pm Bamboo Room (3-2610/2650) According to the RIT campus map Building 3 is the clark gym. I think what they mean is the place where egs is held sometimes upstairs in the New Campus Center. Not positive though.
If I remember correctly, last year they gave 25 dollars on a giftcard to the winners. Egs can’t give out cash. Just an FYI. Probably going to be $5 dollars to enter.
I’ll have to go, if I can figure out where that is.
Anyone here check out the new Mortal Kombat demo? Game is actually alot better than what I initially thought, plays just like the Klassic games, but seems more Kombo friendly to me.

And yeah the combo system resembles mk 1 and 2, in which they are limited, that’s good since it makes it more fair, due to the amount of damage the combos from 3 and UMK3 took.

Vinh, what do you think about a little mvc3 exhibition this upcoming wednesday before/after the rest of the ranbat? I noticed how that group of smash players were kinda popping off, so we could do like a 5v5 exhibition just for funs with smash kids against us SF guys. What do the rest of you guys think of that? We were supposed to do that with Buff as previously mentioned but that never happened… Maybe that can happen in the future too.
I think Buffalo has come in at least some capacity whenever requested. There have been several times for SF where I did not come with, but they came.
I agree, me and ray are kinda getting annoyed with them popping off week after week. Damn I need to get better so I could destroy them! lol.
on a side note: does anyone have a pair of rechargeable AAA batteries? and a spare sd card. I have a 10mp camera that records. and I was thinking maybe we could start taking videos of the marvel matches, since there has been times that we could capture good matches that have gone down so far, and plus i seen the youtube channel and it’s not updated.
Vinh and I should prolly start recording again… when we’re loss sloppy. We have a tripod to avoid the shakes.
Capcom has dropped the price of SF4 on iPhone to .99 with all proceeds going to Japan relief, I just downloaded but may never turn it on.
Aksys is having a sale and 100% of proceeds are going to Japan too, great chance to grab BBCS on the cheap. I ordered a copy of Deathsmiles (also may never open that… until a rainy day).
I think deathsmiles is the only game where you can have fun with underage girls and not get in trouble for it lol.
game does look interesting though, but then again arksys is know for incredibly hard ass games, especially battle fantasia.

@Dave - I believe we should do this because the smash players are getting a bit annoying. We’ve got the players too. I mean look how far You, Gary, Cole, and Paul made it. You definitely beat them and/or can beat them. Gary’s already beat out most of the “Smash” competition. Wong wants in the action too and I’m sure he can beat them. Don’t forget Nam too. I mean if you really look at it, They don’t have anything on us.
@Luis - I guarantee you that when we start to pummel them, They’ll start to shut their mouths and play their game again. Though the scene is pretty nice with them there, I guess we can keep them for the hype haha. But yes, their tactics are pretty lame/scroobish as well. Won’t take long to beat.
@Gary - I want to record again too! I really need a new camera before this all starts 
I have an SD card that I can use if someone lends me a camera for these kinds of nights!! I plan on buying a stick from Jason first then plan on getting a camera

Also, I remember Goggles smack talking us about how good he will be. I think every player he’s played on our “crew” has either beasted him or decimated his ass.
Well if you have an sd card, then all we need is batteries and we can use mine.
Btw I can’t stand online, ray told me playing online will make you better, that’s bullshit with the lag and the amound of crap that happens online, it’s wasting more time being frustrated than actually getting better grrr…

I really wish I could get better at Marvel, but the terrible online play on top of having no local players nearby my town is rough, I can’t do much to level up in a game I only get to play once every week or two.
Next week I’ll bring my new laptop with me for some good ol’ school fightan action. 3S, CvS2, and whatever else. I got everything.
SO we have decided that during Fightfest, We will hold out this 6v6 these smash players want.
If any of you smash scroobs are reading this, We accept your pitiful challenge. Fightfest is on April 2nd if I am not mistaken. Our 6 man team is already chosen I believe.

I will be finishing the rest of the matches this Wednesday. Once those matches are done, Casual play on systems may commence… though, I’m not saying you can’t casual during these matches

Anywho, I had this weird idea. Some of us should go for a gaming world record lmao. Well it would be cool to.
Currently the time for playing the longest on a fighting game is some of the staff at gameinformer, in which they played smash is less than 27 hours.
I was thinking that maybe we can beat that record, and do it with marvel. I’m sure gameinformer will cover this, since we would be challenging thier record, and srk or eventhubs might pick it up since it’s capcom related.
I have talked about it with ray, and he said he’s down. I’ll elaborate more at egs, but for those that currently use the forums, let me know if you are interested.
