No code geass tho …fail…in my book -.-

lol I’m just about to watch episode 4 right now in glorious HD.

Still have no idea where this is going. It’s really interesting though, but I get the feeling the plots moving a bit fast in the first couple of episodes. They’re not really developing anything.

Still though, very good shit. I’m invested enough to really want to see where it’s going.

So, I gotta give you mad props on this one.

From now on, I have no reason to doubt your taste, Dan.

The very first track of your mixtape is a song called ‘Truth’.

Believe that.

So when you guys talk about having a “grind session”, you’re talking about sitting down in training mode and working on consistently pulling off combos with a specific character, right? I found somebody who’s playstyle agrees with me in BlazBlue, and I’ve been mashing out two of her combos for about an hour now, I think.

I’ll take a break soon and come back to it later, BB is getting into my head pretty hard. I can definitely see why people might dislike it, but so far BB feels like exactly the opposite of everything that bugs me about Street Fighter 4. Yannick, I’ll get your copy back to you this Wednesday evening? Unless you need it sooner, in which case just let me know when you want it and I’ll swing by your apartment. Once I come back on the 12th, this is definitely a game I’ll have to get a copy of.

Please PLEASE PLEASE tell me youre playing Litchi.

thanks for the reminder, wasim. been meaning to look up a good reward, no foreign transaction card for my travels, + maintaining more cards helps credit. doing that now, if you guys use an amex blue preferred, refer me for $75!

Tsubaki Yayoi, actually. I like playing rushdown with her. Litchi is actually one of the few characters I haven’t gotten around to playing; I’ll give her a shot in a few minutes and see if I like her better. I checked out her move set earlier today and it looks fun, so there might be some potential.

shoutouts to Tsubaki, the jill of BlazBlue. if you need any quick tips with her I think I still remember some of the more universal stuff behind how she plays

Tsubaki is actually really good. Medium-Heavy Rushdown, she hits a bit harder than Noel does and (in my opinion) has a less punishable offensive style.

We already have 2 Litchi players, we don’t need a third.

Pablo WAS going to be our Tsubaki player, 'til he chickened out to go get gay with Clark, Brokeback-style.

No problem.

Just got this Chase cash back card. . .no interest for 15 cycles. . .so about 15 months.

Not bad. Kinda need to boost my credit as well. . .and I need a zero-balance card so I can rack up all the expenses of moving into my own place. Definitely do not have the straight cash to put down on all the bullshit involved with moving. . .especially with security deposits and whatnot.

Moving is probably one of the worst things to do. When are you moving? If I’m in town, I’ll help you shift stuff.

Tsubaki has been a lot of fun to play with; I’m slowly working my way through all the characters except the ones that I know upfront I have no interest in (Carl and Relius Clover, and Tager). I still have to try out Hakumen, Arakune, Platinum, mu-12, Makoto, and Litchi. Somebody would really have to impress the hell out of me to replace Tsubaki, though.

Also, Wasim, youre engaged?

im sayin tho Coca, I dont know if you understand the epic-ness of Iron-Tager. Hes pretty much the best character in the game. I dont even main him and Im telling you this.

Hakumen is fairly technical, he has a strange way of using meter. Yannick mains him, so I’m sure he can tell you.

Arakune is a fairly difficult zoning character. His entire attack plan relies on cursing the opponent as quickly as possible so as to lock them up. His big advantage is that because of the way he falls, characters have a hard time comboing him. Every character in the game has one or two ‘special’ combos to deal with Arakune specifically, and there is a good chance that most intermediate players even don’t have those memorized.

Platinum is a great zoning character. She’s especially good at taking control of the air. You can’t jump anywhere near her so the approaches have to be well-timed and carefully thought out.

Mu-12. . .I think Dan’s training her up now. She’s a pretty good zoning/trap character. She isn’t insanely technical in terms of execution, but she is rather slow and her moveset is very unique. . .even for Blaz.

I don’t know much about Makoto, but she seems like a pretty solid basic rushdown character. I think she’s got pretty good speed so she’s something of a brawler in that sense.

Don’t bother with Litchi. That’s all you need to know about her.

GET GUARD CRUSHED

 Regarding Blaz characters, I will have to respectfully disagree with many of Wasim’s character summaries.

You yourself will be able to see what each character is about though, CoKo (new nickname GET).

I’ll be more than happy to receive my copy on Wednesday. Truth be told, it’s been only a few days and I’m in some sort of ridiculous withdrawal or some shit. I spent the entire day today CLEANING just to calm myself down. Maybe this is a good thing? Never had this feeling during a training regimen before.

Finally, don’t listen to what anybody says about who you should play or who is good (even me). These are things that discovering on your own will help you to see why things are successful or terrible in different types of games. Glad to hear that you’re enjoying it, though.

If you want to play a character in BB, play this guy -

Ah wait nvm, he didn’t make the cut.

Damn you ASW!

A million times this. Discovering stuff on your own is the most fun. Sharing tech and watching vids is good, but finding what works for you and how to make it work is where I think the most fun in fighters comes from. All about experimentation.

Thankfully the training modes of today’s games are generally more robust than how they used to be.

 LOL that Liz costume.

Man, I love characters named Elizabeth. Something about that name…

Wow, black samurai with dreads with that DeeJay smile? I would main him in a heartbeat.
