even tho tatsu is more damage i like joudan better cause it reminds me of my hero
What’s a “crossup mk”?
It’s Ryu’s crossup.
jump over the opponents head and hit mk at the right time so that ryu’s bent knee, not the forward hitting leg/foot hit them on the back shoulder. basically the opponent has to suddenly switch what side they’re blocking from otherwise they get hit and you can combo into basically anything off it if done correctly.
also if you land any kind of hit and you can confirm it into shoryu use a fierce…theres no reason to use jab shoryu. they’re all 3 startup except ex which is 2.
cr.fierce xx mk joudan (or ex with meter) is pretty much your best punish on the entire cast if they’re crouching. tatsu will whiff, short joudan will also whiff. that may be character specific, probably you can connect a short joudan vs big guys but i havent checked as of this moment. you can also do cr.fierce xx fierce shoryu which is sick. if you have meter basically always go for cr/s.fierce xx ex joudan. without its up to you. fierce shoryu i think does a bit more damage and prob equal stun but it doesnt hit them as far and i dont personally like the timing/spacing as far as dashing/tatsu to get close again/build meter.
Thanks for the info!
Right after I posted that I remembered what a “cross up” is. Brainfart.
Joudan is part mind game too lol. Just a hard ass gut kick to set their ass straight. Let’s people know you mean business lol
that’s cool. thanks for the info. that’s surprising it’ll recover fast enough to offset it. those fukiages do insane stun.
his taunt CAN be somewhat useful if you can sneak it in. it really depends on the other player. like i can see it maybe being useful if you can get a hard knockdown full screen vs hugo. because you don’t want to be too close to him anyway and it could potentially help you out vs his stun if you start eating claps or something.
you can prob fit it in full screen knockdown vs alex too. not sure if he can get up and elbow slash you that quickly.
in general though it isn’t necessarily super useful, i think if you can manage to get in 2 taunts in some matchups it may really save your ass but getting in those taunts is going to mean giving up positioning which could just lose you the round anyway. its just not as obviously a strong taunt as ken’s, dudley, necro, q, yang and akuma’s. could def save your ass though in some situations.
