Fate won’t let me play 3s anymore it seems.
I know I wouldn’t spend half a grand to travel to the other side of the U.S. for an SF4 tourney at Evo or even 3s at EVO. It’s about the arcade experience. Don’t have to deal with some goof every 10 minutes wanting to borrow your stick. A 3s centric event on a versus candy cab is how I want to experience it.
The Sunroute might be the biggest 3s event that’s happened here. Even though EVO had more players and japanese players that came out in say EVO 2k4/2k5 it still isn’t the same. EVO didn’t have both teams and singles and one year wasn’t double elims but one match, lol? I knew a guy that flew all the way there and played for about 5 minutes total in tourney matches because it was single match instead of 2 out of 3. I would have been pissed. They didn’t do that for SF4 and it had 1000 entrants so why would they do that for 3s back in 07.
