I felt the same way and thought of scrapping her entirely but I found a way to win with her suddenly and I thinking I will stick her more over as of late over my favorite Pai for the time being.
I think it does, I even had many matches where it didn’t even say knock out and I was ahead before the game suddenly abandoned the match, I didn’t think anything of it of course but now that you bring this up it might be them cutting it off knowing they just can’t beat me. I don’t care though as long I still get credit for the win it doesn’t matter.
Good games to anyone I might’ve so happened to play over the past couple of days. I’ve more or less stopped playing in Ranked Matches. Just been hitting up player matches and searching for peeps to play as I learn, saving quite a few replays in the process to try and out as many of the mistakes and slipups of mine that I can.
Anybody that wants to play can hit me up anytime I’m online. Any experience is good experience, I say. :3
Yeah, my win record is nothing great to say the least, so I mean I can understand getting pissed losing to me because I’m not all that good, but at the same time, it’s kinda rediculous. The last one was an Akira player that would just spam elbows and short knockdown combos. Got me the first round, second round I just learned to dodge, combo, repeat. When I got matched up with this person later, they just timed out on the matchup screen.
Ranked matches are useless for me. The only use they could have for me is just allowing me to play different people quicker. Other than that…too many whiney babies who want to give you the win real early (dropping mid match etc.). I like being able to rematch and ranked matches don’t allow you do that. Not to mention online ranks don’t matter in the first place.
Truth…probably why I only play Player Matches now. Not having to worry about people’s egos and whatnot. One guy bitched at me because I didn’t do “what I was supposed to”, in his words, when we had a match that resulted in him losing a rank. x.x
I played Rank Matches because it helps me keep a focus. If I want to practice, I will go to player match. If I want to test what I learned I got to ranked. You run into the occasional douche, but there are some solid players in the ranked matches and going for the win against them is always good experience.
That’s o.k. by me. I think most people still think of me as a punching bag in ranked. I’ll probably hang out in the Players matches in the future for a while and see how that turns out.
Edit: Don’t do it Alter!!! We need more Aoi’s out there, if not to balance out all the Lions and Jackies of the world.
Rank Is For Losers
I spend most of my time in Player Matches, too. I actually wandered into Ranked a few nights ago and played till I went from 6th kyu (my brother used to play ranked matches when we first got the game) to 1st dan. Not a single drop. Guess I was just lucky?
Yeah exactly. I think he was trying to tell you “this is the part where you ring yourself out and lose”. :rolleyes:
I’ll play ranked matches just to get at the few people that are decent and probably play ranked matches more often. Which I’ll probably end up sending those people FR’s so I can try to play them in player matches any ways. Other than that…don’t really like dealing with it. Even if you get the win for them dropping it’s just a big breeding ground for online scubs who want to take things overly seriously.
Yeah. I also get people that keep talking in the mic, never realized they were doing it till I actually turned on ‘play through speaker’. There was this one guy that kept asking me over and over again “how do I break the wall down?” "I can’t figure out how to throw people through the wall for a ring out!"
Lol, must be thinking of Fighting Vipers. I wanted to tell him you unlock it when you achieve ‘master’ status.
I’ve been trying very hard. But, man, my Aoi stinks. 
I play player matches more because I find them more fun and if they like your game they will rematch you making it even more fun. I play ranking matches for serious matches thus I play my best characters in ranking matches specifically. My aoi is still a work in progress and I won’t play her in ranking matches since wins and loses mean more in ranking matches. I won’t play others more than once in ranking matches either since I want to play more of the people that play in ranking matches since it seems to be more popular to more of the players online.

I am really thinking of playing player matches from now on really and I can’t stand the number quitters there are online along with the fact that I really sucked badly today, I am beginning to think I will be a 4th dan rank forever but I don’t care. I have so much more fun playing player matches where I can fight others until we get bored all for fun not rank. By the way I have aoi in development that could use some pointers too look me up. I might need some pointers for my Pai too. I think I will be spending alot of time in the dojo after how badly I played tonight with both my pai and aoi equally.

My mind is blown. I had a session against an Aoi player going by the tag Koiyuki while I was using Akira. I know now that my Akira isn’t trash, but the session was hella fun considering the characters we were using. Lots of countering, feint steps and juggles for high damage from both sides. Good shit for sure. :3
