My Japanese isn’t really any good but a rough translation makes it seem like 5FS is the official VF game of Tougeki 2010. “Players have asked about which game will be at the tournament and it is decided that it is 5FS”. Also there isn’t even a mention of 5R on that page which leads me to believe that it’s gone. And how would anyone be able to practice 5R anymore when the game is entirely gone from arcades? VF5FS is officially released in arcades and 5R is over.
If you look on the left side, the logo for R and the game links are still there. I really have no idea wtf is going on as I still thought that R would be played at SBO even though it didn’t make any sense. I’m all for FS at SBO.

The game at SBO Finals will be Final Showdown, but if any arcades are still running 5R, they are still eligible for the tournament if they win.
