Somebody on TZ once commented how the majority of Americans have terrible movement in Tekken, lol. What I like about VF over Tekken is that after you learn all the character-specific gimmicks and punishment + overcome the reaction/execution barriers, it generally seems to come down to playing as dry as possible until you find an opening for a juggle. In VF, there’s a myriad of proactive offensive and defensive options available at pretty much any time unless you massively fuck up or guess horribly wrong.
Anyway, the idea of a buffed back-dash with heavier risk is definitely interesting. The only thing that resembles this in a 3D FG that I know of is eating a CH if you’re hit during back step in SC.
Big ups to Reno for updates.
Been playing 4Evo for the past 2 days. Forgot how great it was. And I think the problem with 5 was that newcomers didn’t know how to play the damn game. Console port of 5 was nowhere near as filling and abundant as 4Evo except in customization maybe. So 5, PS3 version especially, felt rather dead if you didn’t have an actual local scene or Version C(xbox360) with online. 4Evo had a good Quest mode and overall nice package. Tutorials made sure you’d possess some knowledge of the game. But besides this, I’m kinda unsure as to exactly why the purists/hardcores prefer 4Evo/FT > 5. I’ve been wanting to get my hands on Taka badly. Sega, do the unthinkable. Bring FS to consoles and I will purchase 3 copies of Sega All Star Racing…
Also, I’m a competitive Tekken player. Skipperxyz doesn’t really have a clue as to what he’s talking about.But congrats on being top ranked on xbox lol.

you scrubs are still not getting it. VF got a glaring problem with its gameplay that any top level player would recognize, yet you guys rather ignore it cuz of the shiny graphic.
lemme elaborate. VF is mostly rushdown, whereas in tekken you can play rushdown or turtle if you want. you can backdash in tekken and just chill until your opp make a mistake, but you can’t do that in VF cuz you have to hold the block button and stay in one spot. tekken just got much better movement. that’s why sega is trying to incoperate better backdash into final showdown, since they realize the importance of spacing. i don’t want to be forced to rush that shit down all the time if i don’t want to, that’s just rude.

On a side note, I bought vf5 today real cheap and I was wondering what would be the most accesible character to play with, I have never played a vf game before.
Ok, punishment is nonexistent, no defense, you guys are throwing…online, you don’t have any true wallcarry(how is that even possible as Steve), etc. All I’m seeing is moves->whiffs->combos->more moves->more whiffs->more combos. This is high level play? LOL gtfo with that shit. And you expect anyone with half a brain to take Tekken 6 online seriously? The vid has nice editing though.
Fyi, get your ass up and go to a local tourney. You obviously take Tek seriously to some extent. All this online nonsense is just ultimately going to hurt you and how you perceive the game, as evident by your posts.
just because you’re a mod doesn’t mean you can’t be criticized. i consider myself one of the few top level players left on this board, who still drops fresh idea, concepts and knowledge. and i just started playing vf4evo yesterday since i’m waiting for my copy of vf5 later this week. the training mode is actually really good, it teaches you mindgamez for moves and combos. i’m already beasting with sarah.
fyi, i’ve played many top players online, ie crow, kane, blood red. and tekken 6 is perfectly playable on xbox live with green connections, you just can’t do stuff that requires really tight timing. and we don’t use grabs or slow sweeps online. wall carry? as you can see the stages are either the larger ones new to BR or wall less.
where did you place in mlg? that’s what i thought. trust me, you’re not even on my level. what you’re not seeing is the insane amount of spacing i’m doing. you don’t see two players constantly wailing away trying to finish off each other as fast as possible, like in VF. there’s actually a lot of spacing and patience involve.
I tried playing Tekken online. It felt like the characters were waist deep in water.
How is Vanessa looking in FS? I have the urge to out 5 on Xbox, buckle down, and learn some shit.
