I love you cause you love this game…all VF characters are good. One of the top players in Japan uses Brad and has an insane win ratio with him so you are good in that department. VF5FS is a balanced game and any character can potentially win but I do admit Akira and Jacky probably need a tone down in damage.

I notice lag on optimal connections. Play too safe or do high low combo all the time.

I just played a bit more matches. One of them was much better than before in terms of latency but still lost because the Lion in the mirror match knew his shit well. So far, the accuracy is rare.
Should I get this game? I don’t know.
I like fighting games, if that helps.
Go and get it, a lot of good reason are:
Great quality game
Deep mechanics
Easy to understand, hard to master
Only 15 bucks.
The more players know about it, the more online play we all have!!
I really hope this game becomes huge – finally one of my childhood games is revived true to its origins!
I need to get my training up to a higher level in this game, but I feel completely at home with it. I’m glad to finally have one of MY games in the spot light. (SC is one of my child hood series too… but 5 just didn’t work for me.)
My brad was getting worked by a Pai, who loved to stay outside and do some lunging attacks and then dart back out. I was getting so flustered, but every time I got closed She was through. I went into training mode and recorded some of that players tactics and I have a better handle on how to handle things. I hope I run into that guy again.
Game is so fun. Not sure who to play yet, I like Vanessa the most but seems like a bad idea for a first character.
Dude I would love to be a mod for the VF fourms as well.
Also guys don’t forget that this is VF just pick who ever you like. You’ll start getting the feel for them faster than you would expect.

Ay bro, if that’s who you like, I say go for it man. Some say Akira isn’t a good character to start with, but that’s who I started with when I first learned how to play VF in 5, cause I liked the way he fought/his style the most. Sure I got beat down a lot (and I mean a lot, hahah) in the beginning, but I just stuck with it, and eventually learned how to use him better, and win with him.
I won’t say it’ll be easy learning her, cause it wont be. She has a lot of moves. And it’ll probably take a good while to learn all her stuff and to be able use it in a match. But, just go with your gut man. If you decide to use her, just pick a few moves, and do them over and over in a match/some matches vs the CPU. Then add one or two more moves on top of that after you get real comfortable with the first set of moves you chose. That’s what I did. Sure I had to push start in the middle of the match and go to the command list to see how the heck to do x move again, but eventually, I was able to do all the moves in a match. Weather I lost or not, I just wanted to be able to do any move at any time.
That’s my advice anyways… Do you man.
Reno be honest, there has been a small sacrifice in the graphics right? I’m playing on the PS3 and some of the textures like the gates in Jackie’s BG look rough and the characters don’t look as smooth when compared to vanilla. Not a T6 butchering but I don’t think FS sacrificed anything in the arcade because it’s running on new hardware that has more ram. Graphics don’t matter too much of course but I’m curious and you have access to the arcade cabs.
EDIT: Don’t get me wrong the game looks great but there are some inconsistencies.
For me, the backstory is really important when choosing a character. It has to be fairly serious and full of details.
This is why I’ve decided on Jeffry.
Xbox 360 version, just noticed that there is weird inconsistent blur that pops out when the action gets heavy and it doesn’t support 4:3 aspect ratio resolutions as it letterboxes the screen. Sucks that VF5FS can’t truly be played on Sega Blast City cabs full blown much like how it is in arcade (besides the Lindbergh cabs).
shoulda bought the 30 dollar complete bundle, there’s parts of the game that’s inaccessible because i don’t have the customization packs!
