That’s a shame the bowling alley is an unlikely venue now. But it looks like we’ve already got some people waiting for the next GGVT tourney so that’s cool.

David T (IvantheRuin) organized 1-UP and 2-UP. If he’s not gonna be staying in Blacksburg (he graduated last year), then I’m gonna try and organize tournaments with GGVT. If we’re gonna have a tournament, GGVT or otherwise, it’ll probably be in September or early October and details will be in this thread.

The “fighting game club” here is technically part of GGVT (the gaming club at VT) but it’s really just the people that post on this thread hahaha. Name’s David H by the way. I think I played a set with you at 2-UP, Mark. I was the guy with Akuma/Tron/Sentinel hahaha.

Yeah haha. I haven’t been to Xan in a while, probably won’t be there until Thanksgiving Break 'cause of le school. I’m pretty psyched to go back though; I’m getting sick of online haha.

So in the near future Wes and I will be putting together a ranbat style weekly get-together in Roanoke at Star City Games. The venue is clean and has plenty of room, air conditioning and tons of food options around it.

We’re still trying to figure out what type of structure to use for the ranking or point system, but it’ll be mainly to improve and play more often. So the entries will be cheap. We also need to figure out what day would be the best to run it on. So any suggestions or feedback would be much appreciated, whatever you’d want to see from a local ranbat. :nunchuck: Should be hype!

But yeah 3-UP would be cool. Seems like most people are hating on the Tech venue though so maybe we ought to look into an alternate location. Someone better buy a megaphone though cuz I’m kind of in love with being able to announce over the mic system.

For that matter, do we even need a “contact” at the bowling alley anyways? We’ve done it there before, we could probably just ask them again.

Would it be possible to get a room in some building that wasn’t in the center of campus like Torg? I think the main problem was finding parking and having to bring in TVs and all that from pretty far away, unless you got lucky. Surge would work, but I don’t know if people are allowed to use rooms for stuff there.

I totally understand having a megaphone lol. Civil War was difficult because it was just poor ol’ Robin and Rugal screaming their hearts out on stage to get matches going.

If we do another tournament at VT, it’ll probably be in Surge, since the rooms there are hella big and there’s parking right outside. I dunno if we’re allowed to reserve rooms in there though <_<;

Also, did anyone here live on the 1st floor of Lee Hall about a year ago? Cos there was this one dude that played SF4, and I played a little with him. If you remember I was the guy that lent you my stick for a little bit. I remember you saying you were a member on SRK, so just wondering if you are here.

Hi Glutenborb. I used to play in dat area but I gradgitated. If you are playing with those guys regularly I’ll probably see you when I visit. I’m all about Street Fighter 3 and 4.

Ranbats sounds cool. Would be great to get some practice. Also David, I got your back, my truck is able to carry one other person besides myself, so if I’m able to go (got to see the schedule first) you can always hitch a ride.

Probably the cheapest one around right now is actually the WWE allstars madcatz joystick (lol…). The old TEs are extremely hard to find right now, and according to amazon are also averaging $200. If you can catch mad catz on one of their 20% off sales you can get one of the new TEs for around $120
