I’m not good at giving advice but you played pretty solid, few mistakes with teleporting but that happens (learn from mistakes lol).

I was screwing around with training mode today and i was working on my s.hp, lk. tatsu, fp.srk, and i was wondering if the reason why they say you play for the knock down with akuma is because he can combo from crouching (low forward, lk tatsu, hp srk), standing (what i was workin on earlier, and out of the demon flip? Just need to know if I’m thinkin right.
Playing for knockdown is a matter of style.
Technically it is better to knock your opponent down, but resets can let you apply the pressure and garner more damage if the opponent is caught off guard.
Somebody like PaulT uses both knockdowns and resets.
Any criticism is welcome on my first match. In the 2nd one I was kind of dicking around with ryu

Unconfirmed tatsus and red fireballs are pretty unsafe, but she didn’t have meter so not as bad. I assume you know, just throwing it out for the sake of discussion. I’d also avoid comboing into fireball when you aren’t at max range. Every fierce you eat just makes that matchup that much more difficult.
Yeah I was watching the meter and was trying some unsafe things since it was casuals and I felt confident that day. That fireball was supposed to be a DP though just hadn’t really warmed up

Where do you play now adays? I remember meeting you once up in Marrietta or something. You look better than I remember, so that either mean improvement or faulty memory. I can’t think of anything to say for your Akuma, but with Ryu, I would use less joudan since it punishable on block. Good stuff though.
