I’m having a hard time trying to find the other tracks I enjoyed from this game…there’s one that’s pretty epic and has a japanese flute in it that I seem to be a sucker for as well.

As for NES I really can’t make any recommendations. I grew up in the SNES era. (and still short of recommendations, there)
It appears there are multiple versions of that game? (PCEngine, Genesis)
Differing sound qualities, so to speak.

Donkey Kong Country 'Permutation’
First off…warning this song does have lyrics and is a ReMix of Fear Factory. I didn’t mind the lyrics myself and actually found them to be quite simple and catchy (especially after hearing it on loop for a few times). I had to listen to the song first then go back and listen to the source track and play the song again to compare because I forgot exactly how the source track sounded. I like what she did with the track.
Ahhhh shit son…OC has a Megaman 9 ReMix project underway! From what I’ve read so far it probably won’t be done until the end of the year but they’ve already started to gather remixers. It sounds most promising!

FFX has a great soundtrack. Both the Normal Battle and Enemy Attack themes are some of the best battle themes in all FF IMO.
I’m listening to the FFXI OST. It’s HUGE but great. Heard some of the songs a few years back at Gaming FM. Brought back some memories.
FFXI soundtrack is awesome indeed. My favorite is the CoP expansion OST.
Lately I’ve been listening mostly to SF3 Arranged album. I wish they maintained that jazzy/hip-hopish style for SF4 ;(
