Video Game Music Thread Ver. Once More With FEELING!

That would save me some time. Which winamp output plugin would I need?

First, go here http://out-lame.sourceforge.net/#dl

(Go to this line) version 1.6.4 - 2005/10/10 - full binaries (include lame DLL 3.97.1beta/1.32) / simple binary / source code.

Click on Full Binaries.

P.S. Remember all those links I posted for Winamp (http://forums.shoryuken.com/showpost.php?p=5665329&postcount=1106)

The Out_Lame (Mp3) plugin can turn any of these files listed, into mp3. Just make these files able to play in Winamp with their correct input plugins. If you need help, I can try to explain better.

I just sub-ed to this thread to remind me of where to go for the OCRemixes. God I love those.

MGF, thanks once again.

I’ve been on a SNES music kick as late so I’ve got some albums to recommend for you all.

Cool Spot http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?i2n0yhntl0i Two words: BONUS LEVEL!!

The Magical Quest Staring Mickey Mouse http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?g4zyndtondw

Mega driver just updated their site with an album titled ā€˜MetalHog’ which is basically a bunch of versons of sonic songs that they metalized (mostly 1-3k). I’m in the process of listening to it right now so I don’t have a verdict currently…

I will say however that the album cover they made for this is fuckin awesome lol.

Another Street Fighter OCremix got put up…

Street Fighter II: The World Warrior 'Sexxy Thai Guy’

my guess would be this is the music that Sagat plays when he’s in the mood for love…and not rape… This leads to the next thing…after following the links on the description page for this song I found that apparently there’s a whole cd with nothing but these ā€˜thai guy’ remixes

Bad Dudes’ Thai Guy EP:
http://oneupstudios.com/ep_05.php

unfortunately you have to pay for the whole thing so if you don’t have a pay pal account…then that’s no goooooood. Samples of the tracks can be heard on OC ā€˜Sly Thai Guy’ and ā€˜Sagat’s Moonbike’ are already up there.

also check out this OCremix of Vampire Killer from Castlevania

Castlevania 'garlic’

apparently it’s from the Bad Dudes who did this one as well…and apparently the Belmonts hit the assist button and call in Sagat at 3:55 cause that is out of no where lol

Thanks. That made renaming my music ALOT easier as well as new way to search for video game albums that I’ll consider buying. Is there a site for anime music as well?

Also, does anyone know of a Castlevania rap song? There was one that was played on DFP radio awhile back, but they never stated the artist nor title. I’ll try to find the show’s .mp3 file as a source. Thanks alot!

I DLed Thai Guy from that site a few months ago without paying. That ā€œDownload without donatingā€ link seems to be there still. Looks like it’s still free.

That is ABSOLUTELY THE best Hard-Man remix I’ve ever heard. Bar none. Simple and sticks close to the O.G. A lot of remix attempts try too hard and end up too complicated (hard to word this, bear with me) but this is absolutely perfect.

I know what you mean, sometimes they make it too complicated and often Im left wondering when Im going to hear the actual track from the game. usually its a fast song but they slow it down to and take out all the rhythm.
I hate it when they do that

Sometimes, I don’t mind when a remix sounds completely different from the O.G., for example Tekken 3’s OST vs. AST Hwoarang stage…but it manages to sound like it could come from it and remain similar ā€œin spiritā€. That’s usually good stuff.

But when you hear NOTHING that reminds you of the O.G. track and strays too far it becomes unappealing to me.

Also, Reggie provided me with the best Needle Man track I’ve ever heard. ā€œI got my dope from the needle manā€. It’s something else. It sounds like the O.G. but adds in s lot of swank and a great vocal track that just comes together perfectly.

I was also very impressed with the Hard Man remix on Rockman Nokusuri. His theme doesn’t get the love it deserves. I also dug the Skull Man remix on that album.

Lie M-f B, the guy who did ā€œGot My Dope From the Needle Manā€ seems to be a big fan of funk music. Most if not all of his MM music is funk-based.

Well got two more SNES albums for you guys.

Kunio Tachi no Banka http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?t21hocogwjo

You have a link to more of his stuff?

I put just about all of his Mega Man tracks on one album since he did a lot of those and called it Mega Funk: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?gzozyygjnmd

You’ve been on fire as of late. You’re pulling more music out that I’ve ever seen. Thanks a lot!

I’m listening now…this is what I call an album of awesome remixes. Nice and DIFFERENT but in a good way.

EDIT: This is the first album in a long time that I listened to everything from beginning to end in the first sitting.

Where does he post his stuff? I need to give this dude my compliments.

Heh, thanks for the kind words. :wgrin: He’s got a site here: http://lidbjork.homelinux.org/nintendo/

Cool. Thanks. I’m going to add him to the myspace as well.

I already posted this on the Sonic thread…and don’t know if people care to read what I thought about the Metalhog cd that was posted but here…

About that Metalhog cd I posted earlier…

surprisingly…electronic guitar and sonic tunes…you’d think I love it. Fact really couldn’t be farther from the truth however after listening to it through it completely once. and then halfway a second time. 75% of some of the decisions that Megadriver made in those tracks I didn’t agree with… :(.

Especially in comparison to their green hill track on this cd in comparison to the one that they had done earlier…

Hedgehog Metal (Green Hill Zone):

comparing that one to the one on the cd…I completely prefer the earlier. Some notes that they missed or just…didn’t seem to fit completely rubbed me the wrong way (They should probably not ever try to do ā€˜Live and Learn’ again). That’s just my opinion of it so don’t know if anyone feels the same.

Was remembering old unappreciated songs that were hard as hell. Such as this…

The second song after the first, that is. When that shit came on and I saw Geese, I knew I was about to get my ass beat… and I did.

Another one that comes to mind that I can’t find on youtube or mp3 of… anybody remember that old song from the first few Street Fighter II versions? Before the bosses had individual endings? When you beat the game with a boss, the song that played was crazy.

I’m gonna put his song on my cell phone…

It’s call mega man rain.

the whole chrono trigger soundtrack. mainly the rhythm of wind, sky, and earth. fire! is still awesome as well, even if it was played out with the whole brian peppers thing. as a drummer, i will say that these guys knew what they were doing with those midi drums. pretty impressive.
