I was wondering if a thread like this existed in SRK.
that is fucking sexy
Iām giving this a listen to take a break from Halo while Iām dling some stuff off your site. I have to say this is some chill stuff. Iām digging what Iām hearing so far. Second track sort of has a Samurai Champloo mixed with Phantasy Star Online vibe Iām getting from it. Itās a shame I am unfamiliar with Dragon Questās soundtrack.
It will be a cold day in hell when this thread dies.

thanks in advance!
Itās all about Demons/Dark Souls OST. Also, All Metal Gear Soundtracks.
Weird question, but does anyone have a game or song that got you into video game music?
Like for me it was Zelda. I always wanted an Ocarina so I could play the songs from there (yes, I know every kid and their mother had that same dream.)
But still, that love for the music carried over to other games. Now there were plently of games before that, but OoT made me realize that there was a world of music I had yet to explore.
Yeah, for some weird reason as a kid, I was kind of in denial at first thinking video game music canāt be better than real music.
But I was re-playing Chrono Trigger and then I thought that the intro was awesome.
So I started listening to all the Chrono Trigger songs, then Megaman, and so forth.
Then I started listening to covers and remixes for all of these old games, and it wonāt stop dammit.

but itās not Mr. Oādonnel or Mr. Salvatori dammit! whine whine bitch complain moan In all seriousness thoughā¦sounds like Mr. Davidge is doing a pretty good job(Iām digging the 2nd one)ā¦Iāll have to wait to hear the rest of it when I play through it.
that game ruined my NES dreamworld foreverā¦
they are remixes

scariest music ever!

For the majority of the campaign that Iāve gone through, I didnāt pay much attention to the music. I never cared much for Halo music so for a while the music was going in one ear and out the other. But then I got to this one area that makes me want to punch Roger Ebert. It was a spectacle and I stayed still, just soaking in the scenery for about 5 minutes(Iām surprised an achievement/trophy didnāt pop up saying āI know, right?ā). I noticed the music then.
Iāve had Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed since yesterday and itās pretty much my GotY. Overall itās a better improvement over the previous game but it does have itās downsides. Non the less Iām enjoying it a lot. To top it off, tiās retail price is $40.
It also has some wonderful remixes, my favourites being:

Wait, they made another Sonic Racing game? I mean, a lot of timeās passed since that piece of crap Sonic R, but still.
There was a fun but flawed Sonic Racing game released in 2010. You could still find it for cheap now. It has Ryo Hazuki as a playable characterā¦who drives a bike and/or a forklift.
It also had Billy Hatcher, Opa Opa, Bonanza Bros., Alex Kidd & Jacky and Akira.
That game had tracks from various SEGA games, where-as this sequel has remixes.
lol @ turning into a dreamcast controller boat. Man Mr.Jacquesā¦godlike. That Golden Axe mix is TOO good. My ears are having a bit of an orgasm listening to theseā¦Why do I not have this game preordered for my Wii U? Iām gonna have to reserve it real quick and then pick it up on my next paycheck.
Golden Sun āRebirth of Venusā by Matt. R, S. Battle
Source is āVenus Lighthouseā. I never got the chance to personally play Golden Sun but a friend of mine had the game and I got a chance to watch him play. Battle sequences and summons for this game were awesome and had pretty solid sprite work. I was unfamiliar with the source but the ReMix itself is awesome even without knowing it. Nice synth and strong guitar work with high energy and the work they did on the source is fairly straightforward.
Final Fantasy XII āRabaNastyā by Theory of N
Sources are āRabanastre Downtownā and āThe Royal City of Rabanastre/Town Ward Upper Stratumā. Admittedly for me through my time playing this game not many of itās musical themes stayed with meā¦save for Rabanastre for some reason lol. I had some mixed feelings about this ReMix but overall I still liked it. Synth with some chiptuneyness and a touch of funk thrown in.
Thereās more I want to point out by I gotta go to workā¦I shall return later hopefully.
I wanted to post this earlier when I had came across it about a month ago.

This piano cover of Xenobladeās āYou Will Know Our Names/Those Who Bear Their Namesā is pretty damn solid. This guy is pretty awesome considering he played it by ear.
Damn, thatās 70 pages that I gotta dig for stuff I like, barely on page 5 lol. Can people recommend me some tracks based on some of the ones I like while I dig? Hereā¦

Iām a sucker for the violin, so give me all the violin + metal stuff you can find. Symphonic metal, I love that shit. I only like the arranged versions or remixes of old school games, I was never a fan of the 8-bit stuff.
