That is a nice concept idea man.

I wouldn’t count out the possibility. That movie shaped so much about MK. MK11 still gives the movie shout outs.

I loved MK when I was a kid and even played the 3d games, but man, MK9-11 are the best the series has ever been imo. They really transitioned into making the games like full on martial arts fight scenes and it ok if people don’t like that, but it makes them a lot more fun to play and watch because of it.

MK movie soundtrack was fucking tight

I wish the series went back to techno cranking out the speakers during bloody af matches

No they really didn’t

They made them look like cheap, western made martial arts B movie fight scenes with some weak ass looking posed and animation. I guess its fun if you like that, but it looks weak if you grew up watching actual Asian martial arts flicks.

Funny how the movie soundtrack is fuckin legendary but none of the games’ soundtracks are memorable in any way.

It’s something I’ll never get, like not even the recent games can get any decent tunes? Why is MK always lacking in that area?

I mean, the pacing of that fight in the movie does resemble that of, say, MkX.

I was one of those cool kids who had a multi-disc CD player in their room. My 3 disc shuffle go-to’s were the MK1 movie sound track, Spawn the movie soundtrack and 1st TMNT movie soundtrack. I’d listen to them a lot while writing, drawing or deck testing for whatever card game I was obsessed with

I haven’t recalled any decent music since MK4.
It’s weird that whole they’ve improved in many ways, music has taken a backseat.

Injustice music is slightly better but not by much imo.

I had the same reaction. Well, a little more muted. But I definitely said to myself "Oh, this is gonna be good…"

And it was.

MK1-3 got memorable tracks. It’s when the series went 3D that the soundtrack became forgettable.

Only tune I can recall is MK1s character select music.

I don’t think Mortal Kombat has had really good music in ages and I’m one of the bigger fans of the series you’re likely to meet. Deception was all right, I guess?

It’s quite honestly a masterclass in ā€œHow to introduce your protagonist in a video gameā€.

Yea Ghost of Tsushima does a really good job of setting up everything you will be spending the game doing and why you are motivated to do it.

Started Trials of Mana remake last night. Only played it for about an hour or so before going to bed and I’m playing it right now. So far I really like it. I’ve always enjoyed the simplicity of the mana series’ combat system.

I played the original here and there via emulators but have never played the full game so I’m going in blind basically.

I picked Duran as my protag then Riesz and Hawkeye as my companions. I don’t know if that was a good choice but in my mind it made sense.

  • Duran is the tank
  • Riesz can support everyone and attack when needed (I also picked her cause she’s cute and they gave her Ara Ara eyes lol)
  • Hawkeye is secondary attacker but since he increases drop rates than hopefully more often than not I’ll have more healing items than what I need.

We’ll see how it goes. I just met Charlotte in the cave before Wendel. I’m kinda sad I didn’t choose her to be a companion. She’s super funny and adorable.

My one real complaint about the game is that the voice acting is super hit or miss.
