People like having all their games in one place. It’s the biggest reason why PC dudes are insanely loyal to Steam. It’s likely that 98% of their game library is on there. The Epic store wouldn’t be so bad if it didn’t launched half baked. I ain’t trying to invest in a platform that’s still a work in progress.

Well that is dumb.
Competition is always good.
Also, it took years for steam to get where it is.
I understand that is a matter of preference, but pc niggas act way retarded than the console peasants they loath so much.

Competition is good but they went about it in a way that took away choice. They went around buying up exclusives for every major game they could because they knew they couldn’t compete without Steam if they didn’t. When they launched their store it was missing basic features like a search bar, shopping cart and wishlists. Community features didn’t exist outside of the basic friends list and messenger. You know if games like Metro, BL3, and the like were available elsewhere when they launched most will not fuck with Epic given how incomplete it was.

Clicks on other icon on desktop. Has access to games not available on other platforms. Continues to play them. What a travesty…

Does Epic Store support different controllers like the Switch pro controller?
Being able to launch non-steam games through Steam thus making my pro controller just plug-and-play for non-steam games is great. Installing xinput drivers for my pro controller before was a pita. It also messed it up making it not recognized by Steam anymore, which I had to do more digging to fix it.

Yeah I’m certainly not gonna wait a whole year for a game I think looks cool just to save myself a couple extra clicks.
Just bought Mortal Shell on Epic. Once it drops, I’ll just launch the exe through Steam and that’ll be the end of that. shrug

I find humorous that one of the reasonings is the exclussivity deals, like if that means somethng.
You dont have to buy a new hardware to play those games.
You just need to buy it on a different storefront and use a different launcher in some cases.
Like common man, you know very well that is just 1st world problems.

In my personal expirience, any games that go through Epic have automatically been compatible with my pad. I use a wireless dongle that let’s me sync Bluetooth controllers to it, so every game reads my Dualshock 4 like an Xbox pad and so far I’ve had almost zero issues across multiple launchers and games.
When I have had issues, something as simple as unplugging the dongle and plugging it back in usually fixes it.
It means something to me because I want my games on a fully developed platform. I’m not trying to move into a house that’s still under construction.
I know the problem is first world. It’s why I chose to wait it out. I don’t lose nothing waiting a year to play a game. Judging the dumb shit that’s happening with Control’s Ultimate Edition waiting is the best choice I can make.

That Ultimate Edition of Control is such a bummer.
Hope that decision comes back to bite them so they can be made an example of. I’d hate to see this type of shit become the trend for next Gen.

Implying fortnite players spend money
And you shoudn’t
No it’s not. They didn’t even have basic store functions like a cart for some time.
They had a cart functions and wish lists out of the gate
Also going to multiple places isn’t an issue to me, GOG is an example of PC online digital game sales done right. And they off the bat did everything right, Cart functions, wish lists, and they don’t force you to use an app to access anything.
Also both the GOG Galaxy App and Steam lets you add games from outside of their store to the app, so you can have your games all listed in one place.
I dont really give a fuck about some game launcher. I use steam mostly cause im familiar with it. But I get games from other places too. I have shortcuts to all my games in the start menu and I just click them there to launch my games.
