Iā played Y3 and 4 in April/May. I took a break to avoid burnout.
Iām going through 5 now and I bought 6 so I can finish the Kiryu Chan saga!
Iād agree with at least Black Widow being a waste of a character slot in anything other than a game where sheās the main character. Iād kind of agree about Hawkeye as well. Itās a bit of a controversial hot-take but superheroes are usually kind of boring to me if they arenāt āsuperā, yāknow? I want them to have at least 1 superpower that puts them beyond what even a peak athletic-conditioned human can do. I want to see cool superhuman abilities.
Carrionāstill enjoying thisā¦though currently unaware of where Iām supposed to be goingā¦even though it makes sense that this creature would not have a mapā¦ Iād still like to have a general idea of what direction I should be going. Now Iām just wandering around the area looking for more humans to eat.

I mean Hawkeye has super powered aiming. It may not be listed a super power like ice breath or flying or some shit, but he does stuff with a bow and arrow that is fucking impossible. No one could do half that shit.

I like that game a lot actually. I need to go back and finish it. The amount of mutations you can find is pretty cool. At one point my character had spider legs, a mutated arm that shoots explosive goo, and his other arm was a literal boomerang. I bet your character starts looking like a complete freak by the end of a run. Youāre probably insanely powerful at that point too.
The announcer is godlike.

Not feeling the aesthetic personally but I dig what they are trying to do.
Hot Take: Super Mario RPG is a rather ugly game so Iām not terribly surprised a game aiming to be like it would be pretty ugly as well
Off Hot Take: I may not like it aesthetically, but I wish them the best!! I know a lot of people been wanting more Mario RPG for years and Nintendo just seems to fucking refuse so fill that hole in the market if you can.

Whatās funny to me is that its aesthetics are part of the appeal to me. Like, I get how itās ugly, but I just like that style of design.
That said, it takes a lot more than just a style copy to follow up on Mario RPG. That game is great for a lot of reasons that work together. Just one or two elements isnāt going to cut it.

Yea for damn sure, takes more then looking like something to be in the same tier as the thing. Iām just one of those people who thinks those pre-rebdered SNES games a relatively ugly. Yes even the DKC series is ugly imo.

Iād much rather Splinter Cell games come back. Like take Chaos Theory, and modernize it. Probably some of the best stealth games made

The gameplay is completely Super Mario RPG. Thereās a trailer in the link and its completely unmistakably Super Mario RPG. Its as if they just removed Mario and crew and stuck a dif skin over the gameplay and changed the color on some of the UI for battle. The only change is being able to attack enemies before battle that both Paper Mario and M&L series evolved as a thing to be able to do.

2 cents on SMRPG aesthetics: I like it actually because it has this kind of dreamy claymation look on the characters. Something about Another Crusadeās take on it is not clicking with me and it may be that Iām not feeling the character designs especially since the main protag is looking a bit generic.
