I’m surprised at all the titanfall hype I’m hearing on SRK of all places, I’m curious how many hours of the modern cods you guys have played. (like the ones who are on the titanfall hype train)

I’m looking to see if there’s a correlation between low hours in modern cod games and finding titanfall fresh and amazing–just as a curiosity.

A bunch of guys I know and I are tearing apart Das2 pvp trying to find out if there’s anything of worth there (balance patch friday seems like it could fix some of the larger issues) as I mentioned in the xrd thread I’ve been practicing some xx#r and ac+r for the hype train. Sticking with AE practice too with my chums. When I scrape some free time together outside of these I usually dump an hour into nocturne, I got a little frustrated at the labyrinth right after matador–feeling like I should spend time outside the labyrinth, level up a bit then go back in. It seems pretty tough.

I mean the depth of combat as well as movement in this game is just unbelievable. And I love that being in a Titan feels badass AND fair at the same time.

Yeah this game absolutely spoils you with mobility options. It’s like somebody took COD and Mirror’s Edge and just fucking smashed them together.I love it.

Also you do Titans wrong if you feel badass and fair. My Atlus doesnt go down unless I get triple teamed. If I dont get tripled, I survive at least 5 fights unless im constantly being rodeo’d. I dont know what game it was, but I know a game I’ve played before prepared me for mech badassery. It was probably AC3. I was bomb at that shit

Also NSC, the most time I have on a single call of duty is on Modern Warfare 2, at about around 29 days playing time. I had the game from launch, and played it religiously well into the later lifespan of the original Black Ops. 2nd place belongs to COD4, and then Black Ops 2 has the 3rd most playing time.

The only correlation to make is whether or not you liked the OG Infinity Ward take on multiplayer shooters. Which i liked their games, and TitanFall shows they still got it in em to make banging shooters

Maybe it’s just because I pretty much always use the Stryder chassis. Love being able to lay a cloud of electric smoke and then dash away from danger like a 10 story tall ninja.

Played Killer Instinct for a little while too. Not bad.

I wanna tryout Nocturne, but there isn’t anymore room in my PS2 backlog. I did manage to finish the entire Fatal Frame series (not true, I still need to play the 4th game on Wii) and as soon as I took the last game out my PS2, my PS2Log gain another 10 pounds. Lost one of my memory cards that had most of my JRPG saves and didn’t feel like starting over. Sooner or later I’ll get back to completing them all. Next up is Valkyrie Profile 2: Kneel Down Before Me Edition.

I agree that Titanfall is a better game, but the visuals in Shadow Fall have yet to be matched by a console game. And it actually does run at 60FPS even in Multiplayer.

I have two classes that are exactly the same, except one runs Cloak while the other runs Active Radar Pulse. Sometimes the scenario calls for situational awareness over Titan-oriented stealth. But yeah, in most cases Cloak just seems to be the most useful. You can basically Rodeo titans for free.

I’ve noticed in most cases that a pilot will prioritize fighting an enemy titan over getting someone off of their back. So the best time to rodeo seems to be when a titan is busy fighting another titan.

I remember fucking with this one pilot who was walking his titan across the map. I was hiding out in a building guarding a Hardpoint, and I see this guy just walking around. So I throw a grenade behind him, pull out my anti titan weapon, let him react to the grenade, shoot the ever living fuck out of his back, pull back into the building before he turns around, cloak myself, run out, call my titan right in front of him and set it to guard mode, and then proceed to rodeo him to death while he was distracted.

I felt so bad but he kept falling for shit over and over again.

I think the coolest thing I’ve done yet was kill three titans as a pilot without touching the ground. Should’ve fucking recorded it or something, it was unbelievable.
