Sony probably paid Square to kill that XIII crystallis movement so that VXIII could be rebranded and released as XV on the next gen PS. This is probably why Agito XIII was also rebranded as Type 0. Without VXIII that crystallis movement was going to fail miserably. This probably explans 13-2 and 13-3. Three FFXIII games were promised for the movement. FFXIII failing is probably what tipped the scale over and caused Square to replace VXIII and AXIII with new sequels to 13.
That makes too much sense. And ill be crazy happy if the only reason Square kept shoving out XIIIs was because Crystallis was ethered and they still wanted three games that were related
