I’m really REALLY surprised that Thief 4 is a 100% ripoff of dishonored.
It’s like they were making a game and then just decided that they wanted to cash in on dishonored’s success and if you don’t know what I’m talking about: (spoilers)

So there’s the “gloom” in thief 4 which is just the same disease crap that’s in dishonored, oh by the way there’s magic and you have to save the little girl.
im pretty sure thief is a way older franchise then dishonored. dishonored goty edition in my amazon cart grab it soon , still got tons of games i have not got to finish, thief looks good atleast the trailers…Ill wait for reviews… march ill be busy with south park .,J stars and blazblue and maybe titanfall for xbox 360 but gotta wait and see if its just a uglier version then the x1 or missing shit

Yea man Dishonored is the first game to have disease in it AND you rescue a girl! They both have an old lady in them to!!! No ones EVER done that before!!! 
Dishonored was directed by ex Looking Glass devs who learned a lot from the original Thief series, so I’d say the two go hand in hand as it is anyway.

Thief is a much, much older PC game series that Dishonored copied from.
The description here of Thief Gold reads like Dishonored, and Thief came out in 1998, Dishonored came out in 2012.

Lol @ Thief copying Dishonored. Get outta’ here. I remember that shit way back on PC. Really fun games.
I did like Dishonored way more though, to be completely honest. Still need to beat it actually. I always found myself exploring, and talking to the heart thingy. Listening in and gaining insight on people’s thoughts and inner demons…it was an incredible concept. It was as if I could get to know every person before ending them swiftly…hell sometimes I would kill regular citizens out of pity.
That game can turn you into a monster.
Theif has been around since 98.

Depends on what we’re considering old school.
If you mean like, 90’s old school, then the Sega Genesis/Sega CD by a landslide. I can’t even explain how much I loved that goddamn system. Battletoads, Sonic, Eternal Champions, Mortal Kombat, SF…soooooo fucking many timeless classics.
If you mean the more recent era of console gaming, then I’d probably have to say PS2. With the Gamecube being a VERY close second.
Edit: Since you brought up old school games, did any of you ever play this game? Because it was fucking amazing and ever since I lost my first copy I haven’t been able to find it anywhere else. :sad:

I can’t believe I’m getting the same arguments from you guys that because thief is an older franchise than dishonored they can 100% steal the story and mechanics.
That would be like if they made quake 5 with halo shields and cod killstreaks, and the story is you’re mister chief fighting the collective (a group of aliens) but it’s ok because quake is older.
I’m not saying the stealth genre is a ripoff of dishonored, I’m saying they lifted the story and magic and you guys are like “nah see there’s this game called thief 1 which actually doesn’t have the story or mechanics of dishonored so that makes it ok”
I don’t know much about either game, but let me attempt to clarify based on my understanding of what’s going on.
Thief is a series that began well before Dishonored did. Dishonored actually took elements from the original Thief, but people who don’t know that think Thief 2014 is just ripping off Dishonored when it’s the other way around.
I may be wrong, but this tends to happen with A LOT of different things. Chalk it up to people being ignorant of the history and driving force behind the things they enjoy.
