It seems that a lot of companies ain’t going to put a lot of effort in this year’s show. With PS4 and new Xbox getting all the attention in this year’s show I don’t blame them.
I’m actually looking forward to the Lightning Returns E3 trailer/gameplay demos. That and this year is totally the year of JRPG’s (Time and Eternity, Tales of Xillia, Project x Zone, Disgaea D2, SMT4, ect.).
But other than that, I think there maybe a few surprises at E3…who know’s maybe Harada has something to show.
So at this time it comes down to Sony vs Microsoft: The next gen presentations. I was hoping to hear more about the steambox, but it seems farther off than I thought.
There’s stupidity, and then there’s the Konami conference. It was on a completely different level. Dumb conferences are just dumb, but their conference was magical. I’ve never seen an E3 conference so bad that it turned out great. How many people were actually looking forward to Konami’s conference the following year?
Nintendo will remain dead to me (Outside of 3DS which will be slim pickings here) until F-Zero or Starfox comes calling, or Platinum makes a Captain Falcon third person brawler.
Konami in 2010 was Street Fighter: The Movie levels of legendary and will go down as one of the greatest moments in E3 history.
Tak Fujii’s segment = Guile’s speech to the troopers.
Naoki Maeda dancing on stage was the Bisonopolis monologue.
The Lucha Libres fighting was as good as Ken KO’ing Sagat with a shoryu.
Silent Hill stare was “Quick! Change the channel!”.
This is exactly why when people say Nintendo should go third party and make software only is dumb as fuck. If people don’t like Nintendo’s IPs how would putting Zelda and Mario games on Playstation and/or Xbox suddenly going to spark their interest in them? Because they’ll have achievements and trophy support? Collect 100 rupees. +10 Gamerscore.
