Video Game General 6.5: Now with more surprise mechanics

Oh, but yeah, I always thought the Gamma storyline in Sonic Adventure was fucking wild. Like this entire narrative was on cruise control, playing it as safe as they can and doing the most middle of the road shit possible, and then Gamma’s story got you like:

According to Capcom’s 2019 financial reports while they are still planning to grow current “pillar” franchises like Mega Man, Monster Hunter, Street Fighter, RE and DMC they plan on creating new titles for dormant IP’s that have not been seen for many console generations.

Viewtiful Joe Collection PLZ

The fact that Viewtiful Joe never got a collection should be a war crime.

As for dominant ips, I want a follow up to 2014 Strider and a new Onimusha.

Agreed. Capcom has been making merch for Viewtiful Joe the last few years. Fan gamer has 2-3 VJ shirts and ThinkGeek/GameStop has made some vietiful joe figures. My guess is to feel if there’s still interest in the IP (there is)

I personally want a Viewtiful Joe collection and/or sequel, a new Darkstalkers, Dino Crisis Remakes and like you mentioned a sequel to 2014 strider.

Maybe a new Ghost/Ghouls n Goblin’s game. Or a Maximo Remake. Or a new final fight.

Gimme a Dino Crisis 1 remake using the RE2 Remake engine please (or finish the storyline from where DC 2 left off)

Watch them still forget about IPs like Breath of Fire and God Hand. But hey at least maybe Onimusha finally has a shot at a completely new game for the first time since… like 2006? 2007?

I don’t know about BoF. The last two weren’t that well received. BoF6 was a mobile game that absolutely bombed. It was never released outside of Japan, iirc.

I know everyone here loves God Hand but I personally didn’t like it.

Lost Planet Colonies + LP2 + E.X. troopers collection coming!! And with A.I. bots!

That game honestly deserves a full on remake. Keep the combat system and “fuck you” difficulty but for the love of god do something about camera/tank controls, it only hurts a beatemup like this

Believe it when I see it. I wont fall for another Darkstalkers Ressurection fiasco.

Changing God Hands controls and camera would make it not God Hand.

Don’t touch the gameplay or don’t fucking remake it. That games gameplay is perfect the way it is.

God Hand will never get a remake as it only has a very small fanbase.

Dragon Quarter was back in the PS2 era. That’s more than long enough for a series revival on console. Classic JRPGs are in upswing with games like Dragon Quest 11, Octopath Traveler, I am Setsuna and the like. It might be a good time to bring it back. Breath of Fire would be the perfect IP for an original Capcom game for the Switch.

Oh I 100% agree. BoFIV for PSOne is one of my favorite PSOne RPG’s. Same game be said about II on the SNES.

A new one or a collection of I-IV being switch exclusive would print money.

In other news Activision is trying to lie to COD fans yet again

https://blog.activision.com/call-of-duty/2019-10/Announcement-Call-of-Duty-Modern-Warfare-Post-Launch-Approach-to-New-Content

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is almost here. From the moment this project began three years ago, the energy has been extraordinary.

We’ve set our sights on not only creating the best game possible this year, but also on breaking down walls and bringing the community together. Starting with Modern Warfare , we will be:

· Introducing crossplay to unite the community across platforms for the first time.

· Removing Season Pass and a la carte DLC multiplayer map packs to ensure everyone can play together.

· Delivering free post-launch multiplayer maps and modes for all players.

· Releasing post-launch multiplayer maps and modes simultaneously on all platforms.

We are excited about what these changes will bring to Call of Duty players. That said, we also recognize there is one more topic that many fans are interested to learn more about.

Today, let’s address the basics for the in-game economy coming in Modern Warfare .

· We are introducing a new Battle Pass system, not a loot box system.

· All functional content that has an impact on game balance, such as base weapons and attachments, can be unlocked simply by playing the game.

· The new Battle Pass system will allow players to see the content that they are earning or buying. Battle Passes will launch timed to new, post-launch live seasons, so you can unlock cool new Modern Warfare -themed content that matches each season.

· With the new Battle Pass system, players will be able to earn COD Points by playing the game.

· There will be both a Free Stream and a Premium Stream of content in the Battle Pass System in Modern Warfare . New base weapons will be earned through gameplay, simply by playing Modern Warfare . Functional attachments for base weapons can be unlocked through gameplay as well just like in the game’s Beta.

· The Battle Pass and the In-Game Store will feature a variety of cosmetic content that does not impact game balance.

The Battle Pass System for Modern Warfare will not launch when the game releases on October 25th. Here’s why: First and foremost, we are all focused on making the Day One experience awesome. Second, it’s important to us that everyone who is playing Modern Warfare has the chance to work their way through the new game and unlock all the rewards that are waiting for you. We expect to launch this system for Modern Warfare later this year.

Understandably there are still questions around how the economy will evolve throughout the post-launch, live seasons. We recognize this will take time to fully demonstrate. Please know we are committed to delivering a fair system guided by the principles we’ve outlined here, and will continue to monitor feedback and player engagement to help us achieve that goal.

Please look for more information on the live seasons and post-release content plans for Modern Warfare throughout the year and beyond.

We are looking forward to playing in just a few days.

Thank you.
