Why no one tell me you die alot, but as long as you finish one area and move to the next you unlock stuff where you not suck as much the next time.
“Dead Cells is a rogue-lite, Castlevania-inspired action-platformer”
Who ever said this needs to be beaten with a inch of their life.
Nothing like ether game. Maybe that is what got me to shut down and forget the game in the first place, So often I hear Rouge-Like that it became like a curse word, I hear “rouge-like” and I am like NOPE.
ohhhh yeah… it’s been quite some time so I had to look it up… Borderlands 2 came out in 2012…how in the hell did they not put that on the list? I know it’s all subjective anyway, but at least for me, B2 was some Legendary shit, man…I actually have it 3x— 360, the PS Vita version, and much later via the “Handsome Collection” on XB1. I played an insane # of hours of that game despite never hitting the final level cap (level 61 Salvador; I think my Krieg was level 50-something) This is a bit blasphemous to some Borderlands fans, but part 2 was far superior to the first game in every way, imo.
I’d also have Gears of War 3 for my list; original release was 2011. It was such a satisfying grand finale; all the usual gameplay I enjoyed from that series, and what many of my fellow Horde fans would consider to be the BEST version of Horde mode.
Vampyr would also make the cut for me, though of course that gets into some extreme bias right there since I’m the biggest fanboy of vampire stuff there is. In terms of the social impact of a vampire interacting with human characters, and the sense of morally ambiguous situations and harsh consequences from your actions…this game nails it perfectly, imo…for those things especially, it is everything I imagined a perfect vamp game to be. (they also brilliantly crafted a way to make your feeding a tempting thing, by making that the biggest way to get exp…you get drastically more powerful at a faster rate by feeding on and killing people) My only gripe was that the action and combat was slightly lacking; as a big fan of “stylish action” games I wish they could’ve cranked that up more. (then again… it’s difficult for anything to compare to the action you see in DMC games and Bayonetta, imo)
Frankly I think it’s impossible to make an objective “best games of decade” list. It’s going to be swayed by personal opinions in one way or another.
I mean, what do you even use for metrics? Metacritic scores? Sales? Player population? Twitch viewer counts? Neither of those are good arguments about the game’s quality
So yeah, whenever a list like that is made - obviously it’s highly subjective
Blizzcon is still happening so… can’t avoid that. They’re just delaying the inevitable
Don’t turn away anyone wearing a Hong Kong shirt or any appeal supporting the protest. That would extend to gas masks, umbrellas and freedom Mei cosplay
Put Diablo Immortal on ice. The reception to it wasn’t great to begin with but the fact that it exists for the Chinese market will give it even more blowback given recent events. Hide it in a dark corner somewhere.
Too late, rumors say it’s launching VERY soon, probably right around/after Blizzcon. It’s also a huge gateway for Blizzard into the Chinese market since mobile gaming is big there, much bigger than PC or console
Not to give too much credit to that list as it has quite a few WTF’s on it, but seeing MGSV on it just makes me wonder if I would feel any differently about the game if I gave it another shot now. It’s been a few years since the disappointment of it turning out to not be a Metal Gear game. Then again, every time I see more Death Stranding footage it makes me feel even more secure in my initial thought that Kojima has lost his touch. I couldn’t force myself to finish it and it felt like the only good aspect of it was the gameplay.
