Maybe that’s the case but from playing it, it needs a bit more complication. It’s actually far too simple as-is
I don’t know about the gameplay, but everything else about it looks good and interesting.
Went into the Target near the donation center and found a couple of things I’m interested in, primarily Kingdom Come Deliverance for $2.50 on XBox. Gonna go back on Thursday, and if it’s there I’ll grab it.
The platforming is pretty fun although some places aren’t fully thought out, the music is absolutely amazing, the main character art is great, the voice acting is great sometimes but inconsistent, the areas feel weirdly empty, the towns are kinda annoying because of the overabundance of backer characters that are am eyesore, the story is fine I guess.
Honestly the gameplay was what was making me want to keep playing, but the battle system doesn’t evolve to be very deep. Or basically doesn’t evolve at all last the first hours. There’s some enemies that can block so you have to do a high then low or vice versa to break their guard, ok cool, but even if you don’t juggle them the guard doesn’t come back unless you drop the grounded combo for long-ish time so it’s very easy to get around and doesn’t require much skill. There are enemies with hyper armor but you can sweep or launch them and as long as you do actually juggle them, they won’t regain it. The latter is better cause at least there’s a reason to try to juggle but that enemy type is rare. Even the blocking ones are not really common. And for regular enemies there’s no real reason to juggle at all since air hits don’t like, gain extra exp or meter or whatever, unlike it’s own inspiration, Valkyrie Profile, which gave you extra EXP on juggles and extra meter on OTGs.
The combat seems really promising at first when it’s still introducing you to stuff but it stops introducing mechanics way WAY too soon. It’s just like “that’s it?”
The platforming fares better as it keeps getting new interesting traversal stuff, luckily, and it has great ideas with bosses that need combat phases AND platforming style action game sections, and the high/low thing existing at all plus the active defense system is a fucking great idea.
It just isn’t deep enough
LOL at Agony. First I’m hearing about it. Do not want, haha.
Inertial Drift looks intriguing…
Potentially NSFW
Sonic vs Rule 34
See if I was Badnik here I would at that point just Snap Sonic’s Neck.
No taking a chance of Sonic recovering and ruining your plans if he Dead.
I think the game needs the Dropkick Works treatment…>.>
Agony looks hilarious. No idea how you guys don’t want to play it.
Shit looks like a bad PS2 game.
Is there a Gamecube version of 2K20?
man… shit.
sheeeeit, shamelessly stolen from a gfaqs board which stole it from cnet…

y’know, 1 sad thing about Fortnite… I haven’t read all of this yet but I am 99.9999% sure they are NOT talking about the part of the game I actually liked, which was originally the main game. Most people forgot that even existed. There’s probably people that work at that company that forgot the “save the world” part is a thing.
Shit, is this the work of the new team they got handling the franchise? That looks like 2 generations back.
Super Mario Galaxy 2 being on there at 12 and Mario Odyssey not even being on there is a fucking travesty.
I am not a fan of lists like that anyways, too subjective.
I’m just now catching up with that deep dive article in to the PS5 that came out about a week ago. Sounds great.
Not that XBox had a chance from me anyway. Still not over that shit they tried to pull in 2013 before they got spanked. Sometimes I can still watch Sony’s E3 2013 and get a chuckle.
Yeah…I didn’t even recognize it until you said something. If it wasn’t for BotW that game would have gotten all the GotY attention for that year and the fact that it isn’t on that list ANYWHERE is weird.
If I had to pick, I’d put Mario Odyssey over BOTW for sure. I liked BOTW a lot but I got the same feeling when I played Mario Odyssey that I got when I played Mario 64 when I was 14 at ToysRUs when you could play the demo consoles before it was out.
Most of the games I’d list as the best of the decade aren’t even on that list. I don’t even mean that in a hipster “oh you’ve just never played them”. I just find most AAA titles very boring. Well produced and shiny but boring
There are titles on that list that to belong like SMG2, Last of Us, Mass Effect 2, God of War Dad Bod Edition and Horizon But it’s also omitting a lot of great games. Uncharted 4, PS4 Spider-Man, Mario Odyssey, DQXI to name a few.
