Video Game General 6.5: Now with more surprise mechanics

Infiltration had a DV charge apparently, that’ll pretty much get u cancelled. Was not previously aware of this

He was accused of domestic violence by his wife in a bid to get the house in their divorce he claims. The police investigated and it was found she went to the ER with a brusied wrist but that was it. Dont know the details of any like…fines he payed or anything but that seems to be the extent of it. He took a year off and is coming back for 2020.

Ohhhhhh…so the Domestic violence thing with Infil was true?

I mean…who knows really…she may have been hitting him and he grabbed her wrist, she fought, it got brused. Like I dunno anymore man.

Honestly, the mere accusation is enough to get a dude cancelled these days. The fact he’s being allowed back in shocking

Yea pretty much.

Here’s hoping the Amber Heard shit is some kind of a wake up call to that nonsenss. You can’t just cancel people because you heard something about them. This isn’t high school.

wait so ive been hearing conflicting report about the hk version of granblue first it had english sub then it didn’t. now ive heard not only does it have english subs but the dub is finished and on the disk. and if that’s the case wtf.

I think it’s due to the vagueness of the whole situation. He got hit with the year off, but because nothing really of major substance came out after the fact everything really died down. It’s hard to do the usual cancel of going back to remind everyone what happened when we still don’t really know the full extent of things. He laid low, got things in order and at this point it’s hard to tell him no though obviously he’d be on a tight leash.

Imo the FGC has even scummier dudes and they are still allowed back into events.

Nothing concrete really came out of the investigation afaik. Did Infil abuse her? Who knows. Was she really crazy? Who knows. Infil still ok in my book.

Atsushi Inabu, a developer at P* mentioned in a recent interview that W101:R has been in development for “at least a year”. He continues by saying he is appreciative of all the love and support the game has gotten. Especially now that they will finally stopped being asked when a switch port for the game is coming.

(1.285M btw)

I only played a little bit of W101 but it was fun. Great to see it getting another shot at life. Platinum and Nintendo have had a very goos relationship over the years and but if they wanna self publish games, I’m all for it. Seems like Nintendo is supporting them in this.

I’m gonna buy multiple copies of W101 Remastered to help the game sell. I’ll buy them for family and co-workers.

With all the talk about W101 Remastered, I haven’t been able to get this song outta my head.

Sooooo glad this song returned in Smash Ultimate.

DMX at stable 60fps is gonna be sweet

Not like the mess of a framerate it had on Switch

I’m shocked Mortal Kombat 11 didn’t make it into Evo. I heard that the changes they made to the general system with MK11 weren’t just “we need different stuff” but bids to make the game more competitive.

But eh. If NRS somehow takes this personal, I hope they make the gameplay more fast and fun next time without worrying too much about competitive outside of patches/basic balance. As much as I like MKs past and including 9, 9 was the most fun one to watch out of the bunch in tournaments. Seems the games have gotten a bit slower and less combo-friendly since then. MK11 was the worst offender there. Still great, but still chasing MK9 for me.

It’s a mixed bag

11 stopped being a rushdown 50/50 simulator X was, but considerably lost in overall gameplay tempo
Supers are untied from meter and can be used however many times since they regenerate upon a block (gone upon a whiff)
Whiff punishes are much more brutal, but instead of a simple counter hit effect like most fighting games, they put in short violent “cutscenes” with breaking jaws, bones, ribcages etc, which further slows the game down
They kept the meter management aspect with EX specials, but now they went with two different bars - one for defensive stuff (like delayed wakeups and manual air recovery), one for offensive (enhancing specials)
They added a “just defend” like mechanic, but iirc it doesn’t reward you meter, so you just recover faster, and block button is still in the game (while Injustice has the traditional “hold back to block”, it’s super weird)

11 almost feels like an experimentational game to be honest, and I feel they swinged too hard from the crazy bullshit that MKX had
