Grandia 2 is dope.

Oh thats something a botw sequel needs, a meatier current time narrative. I like botws story and I like that it has them lose, even if it’s in the past and link regaining his memory is a nice way to tell that kind of a story, but the story told during the time im playing could be a bit meatier. I think a good place to do this would be with side quests. Nintendo pulled this off in the past with my favorite Zelda, Majoras Mask, and most recently CDPR did with The Witcher 3. It really brings the world to life and make it feel like your are making some kind of a difference when the side stories involving the normal people are also robust and entertaining with little stories and asopes of their own to tell. The Terry Town side quest is a great example of this, when you’re done you feel like you helped contribute to people finding a new home to be happy in and it makes the town kinda special. Need more of that in my opinion. It helps flesh out the world and cultures of Hyrule, which by the way BOTW has been fantastic for learning more about the Gerudo. They got real shine here.

So yea more dungeons and more robust side quests would really boost "botw2"s quality appeal to me.

BOTW is great and I care little for open world games. The game had a decent way of exploration and unlike say WW the barren world didn’t bother me as much. Almost all Zelda games have a barren overworld. As for the dungeon complaints, define a Zelda dungeon.

Generally a multi roomed and multi floored set of challenges with locked doors and keys and a challenging boss at the end. Run time between half and hour to an hour generally.

I use “challenging” as a general term here.

That’s my bare bones description of a Zelda Dungeon.

There’s usually a theme there, too. Every “dungeon” in BOTW has one in the same theme. Save Hyrule Castle itself, I guess.

Oh yea true, some kind if running theme for the dungeon, fire, water, spirit, whatever.

4 high quality dungeons like Majora’s Mask combined with the shrine concept would probably satisfy me real good.

Skyward Sword has some of my favorite Zelda dungeons.

Yea had really cool dungeons like the urn and desert time shinangians. I also liked how the world outside the dungeons had dungeon like design to them.

The flooded forest was freakin’ awesome.

Oh right on, I’m not the only one who liked the flooded forest.

In all seriousness, it’s just that each time I tried to play one I just never ended up liking it. Kinda like Castlevania. First CV I really liked, like legit, was Bloodstained: CotM lol

What do you mean by artistically though? I’ve watched a ton of gameplay of a lot of the games and with some exceptions I’m not super into the styles they go with. I think BotW looks good for the most part though, and Skyward Sword Zelda is freaking cute.

W101-R is over 903k right now.

Wouldn’t be surprised if it reaches a mill by tomorrow evening

Edit: it’s sitting at 943k and some change. Will likely hit 1M by morning

Keef’s Pokemon Home video had me laughing so hard I had to pause on multiple occasions.

And Wonderful 101 Remaster coming to multiple platforms including Switch? That’s what’s up.

Out of the brief time I’ve followed him and his backlog I’ve watched it’s easily his best video imo.

I was never big on Link’s design pre-BOTW and had always pegged it as more ‘typical’ western fantasty themed game, but it was much more than that. BOTW has an awesome design but Wind Waker and Twilight Princess have entirely different flavors that work really well.

It took me a back how much of the character design and world design really popped. Hard to describe for now.

Back to W101, might have to grab the Switch version since the saving replays are a breeze. On the PS4 it’s clunky, but I’m guessing on the PC it can be easier?

Various interviews with Kamiya and Platinum.

Platinum says that they will not add new characters or needless add-ons to the game. Their ultimate goal of the stretch goals is to add further replay value to the existing game

In another interview Kamiya and another P* Developer say that the Wii U’s limited sales were not the only reason W101 failed.

https://twitter.com/ninsoup/status/1224490613678231558?s=21

They mention in the interview that the game had no focused vision as compared to Bayonetta which told you right away through gameplay and marketing it was a 3D Action Game. They felt they failed on that front with W101.

Kamiya continues by saying they also didn’t flesh out controls and mechanics as much as they wanted to. Kamiya specifically says that the idea behind W101 was to appeal to children/younger gamers and have it be easily accessible to them.

However when he’d see the children of coworkers and friends try to play the game he saw them only get frustrated and upset with the complexity of the control schemes, mechanics and goals of the game

He hopes with W101:R they can rectify all these issues that they felt plagued the game.

Cool. I’ll finally get to steal W101 and try it out.

Someone posted this somewhere so I decided to give it a try. Pretty cool game so far. I dunno what kinda game to call it. It feels like a diabro type game but without all the stats and inventory and stuff. You just level up and get new items and bust on shit.

W101:R just crossed 993k. Analytics show It will likely break a million within an hour.

Edit: 997k and still climbing.
