Majora’s mask was a lot of fun, wind waker is really empty, but an empty that I enjoy for some reason :woman_shrugging:

…Yes?

I like Majoras Mask more then BOTW…

The fact that you really can go ANYWHERE in BotW is one of the most appealing things about the game. I didn’t find it a chore to go places, but mostly because the world is so full of wonderful things to discover that I’d get sidetracked and lost in the world every time I played.

My biggest complaint with it is the lack of traditional Zelda dungeons. I get that the formula that was really popularized with ALttP where you get a dungeon item to open up new places may not have worked as well with such an open world game (or maybe it would? I don’t know). But the overworld itself, and the 100+ mini temples made up for it a little.

Since we’re going down that road, gimme you’re top 5 Zelda titles:

  1. majora’s mask
  2. a link between worlds
  3. OoT
  4. Wind Waker
  5. Okami

whoops, I mean BoTW or a link to the past…

My favorite console Zelda is Wind Waker. Hands down. The runner up is Majora’s Mask. After that it’s a different day different answer kind of situation. Skyward Sword being last is always a guarantee though.

My favorite handheld Zelda is Links Awakening. Which is also my favorite Zelda overall as well as one of my favorite games of all time.

The runner up for favorite handheld Zelda is probably Link Between Worlds. Then Oracle of Ages, followed by Oracle of Seasons and then Minish Cap.

My least favorite handheld Zelda is probably Phantom Hourglass. Which isn’t even a “bad” game or a bad Zelda game. It’s just so. fucking. tedious. I hated having to play Metal Gear Zelda in the Palace of the Ocean King every time I cleared a dungeon.

WTF really?

those motherfuckers didn’t include a lefty mode. Link has always been left handed until that game. that game can go to hell

  1. Majoras Mask
  2. ALTTP
  3. BOTW
  4. Zelda II
  5. Skyward Sword.

This list could change tomorrow the only anchored game is Majoras Mask.

I have never cared about this and never will care about this. Ive never considered this complaint to even be remotely serious. I’ve always thought it was a meme even before memes became main stream or whatever.

Note: I am left handed and do not give a shit about lack of lefty representation. I have Ned Flanders. Anyone else doesn’t matter.

A Link to the Past
A Link Between Worlds
Breath of the Wild
Link’s Awakening (original Gameboy version- haven’t played the remake yet)
Zelda 2: Link’s Adventure

Edit: My list could change tomorrow, too. I really wanted to put Skyward Sword in there. And Twilight Princess

Midna and being a beyblade is why TP ranks pretty high on my list.

If it wasn’t for the notoriously bad translations of the 80’s and early 90’s I have a feeling people would consider Zelda II one of the goats. Game was oozing in potential. I want a modern day remake of it so bad.

the hefty lefty himself.
I’m not mad about the representation in all honestly, but that game would have been 1000% better for me if I could play it with the sword in my left hand. It was just having to figure out how to get the coordination in my right hand up to snuff and that sucked

It was a joke. Lol. People These days like to hyper marginalize themselves and then ask why there’s no representation for that hyper marginalizing.

I don’t remember ever having an issue with it. Not to say people didn’t have an issue with it. I just took the same practices and muscle memory from learning fighters at the arcade into the wiimote.

cries in never being able to ShoShoSho or Paint the Fence consistently in CvS2 on P2 Side

Geeeeet fucked dumbass. Who the fuck gets caught by the Ninjas once and then decides they are gonna keep doing the shit afterwards? Ninty let you off with a warning the first time and you didn’t heed that shit and now the Ninja’s came for that ass with no lube. No fucking sympathy.

If you’re sitting around in Spider-Man holding R2 and pressing forward to get everywhere, you’re not traveling efficiently. The traversal isn’t supposed to be some difficult death march. It’s easy and intuitive to do cool stuff. The whole point of the over world is to be a backdrop to all the story missions that take place, alongside the collectibles you can choose whether or not to acknowledge. It’s a playground. That’s kinda like taking the most obvious paths in Mario Odyssey and then complaining that the game gives you no freedom to do things your own way.

I don’t really see the merit in comparing BOTW to Spider Man in the first place, tho. They’re two pretty different open worlds. Breath of The Wild obviously wants you to explore and does an excellent job promoting that feeling. Spider-Man wants you to have a fun backdrop to swing through between bigger plot points, with collectibles that serve as an additional activities to engage in for totally optional suits.

Personally I don’t have a problem with traversal in either game, but they’re two very different beasts that I enjoy for very different reasons.
