Video Game General 6.5: Now with more surprise mechanics

Something’s gotta be done to fill those empty dust bowls known as PC online fighting game rooms lol.

They will probably air a state of play that is nothing but PS5 info (specs, features, games, price point, models etc) either right before or right after E3. Then probably another right before Q4.

I don’t think it’s Sony doesn’t care about E3 anymore or think they don’t need it. I think it’s just that they’re seeing the writing on the wall like Nintendo has. But instead of dialing it back they’re just wiping their hands clean of it.

That’s how I’m looking at anyways.

It’s that a hack? :flushed:

Please. Please.

I actually don’t have a twitter account, but I think I might just make one just for this.

jokes are supposed to be funny

how did this fly under my radar?

as for sekiro, dark souls, etc etc.
the only thing i notice is all those from software games have the same speed/movement/combat as tenchu.
they really do.
watch a wrath of heaven boss fight, then watch dark souls or sekiro, etc.
same shit.
combat same.
except they removed the best part of tenchu which was stealthing.
meh.
but i understand the appeal.
those tenchu boss fights were still fun. but a bit limited in moves.
but what was fun about them were the difficulty because getting hit 2 or 3 times meant death.

What kind of a question is this? Of-fucking-course crossplay should be a normal and standard thing, especially for fighting games. It could literally save the genre in terms of population as if you’re not a part of Tekken/StreetFighter/Mortal Kombat, the playerbase will ide out real fast. Even if there’s only 200 people on console and 50 on PC, I’d rather have the combined number of 250 instead of choosing one or the other. And some people don’t even have the priviledge of choice

Looks like someone was actually thinking the same thing after seeing Raf’s designs, I was actually day dreaming about how this movie could work with a bunch of dog fighting scenes

If you’re gonna do it then don’t fuck it up. Keep it animated and do a broad run through of the ‘story’ from 64. Pick and choose the planets and keep it action based for the love of god.

Use influences for the flight sequences from the Star Wars movies and ID4, think that’d be a good starting point and be kind of coming full circle.

Don’t expect a strong story from it then

Star Fox’s story sits in the same category as fighting games, assassin’s creed, and most JRPGs for me:

It looks interesting from the outside, but as soon as you learn more than a few tertiary details, it gets bogged down in so much useless fluff filler convoluted bullshit that it becomes lame as all get out.

I don’t know why video game and science fiction writers can’t figure out when to walk away from shit and respect their audiences intelligence and imaginations.

It doesn’t need a strong story. Star Fox never really had a strong story. They just need to give the characters motivation and have them blow up stuff. Just have the story start out for the first 20 minutes establishing Andross, his descent into madness, Pigma’s betrayal and then time skip to when Fox takes over the merc group with Andross’ attack on Corneria. This is just a guideline. It just needs to be light hearted and action focused with a tiny bit of cheese.

They definitely don’t need to attempt that weird love triangle that Andross was involved in that I’ve only heard about in the comics.

Or anything involving dinosaur planets and the cornerstone of furridom, krystal.

Does the genre need “saving?” Especially if crossplay has the potential to make the overall experience worse by introducing hackers to the mix? Hacking pretty much killed Soul Calibur 6 on the PC from what I’ve been told (though the case may be overstated) and that wasn’t even a crossplay situation.

I agree with RSG, if the company in question is going to be on the ball about bannning idiots, then sure, but for the most part companies suck at this kind of thing.

FFVII R delayed into April

Avengers delayed into September

Im cool with Avengers & FF7 delays, if it makes the games better, Im willing to wait. We don’t need anymore broken, unfinished turds on the market

Oh yeah…just wanted to throw this out there. puts on tinfoil hat There is a probably a 25 to 30% chance that this smash char is Dante. I’ve seen a couple of rumors and speculation around this but nothing that made me lift an eyebrow to say anything until now. They chose one of the dates that they’re supposed to be talking about special features for DMC3

I was waiting to see if Ninty was going to announce their real direct on one of these days but now we have a full blown char reveal on the first day that was mentioned out of the 3. It could be entirely coincidental of course and there still isn’t anything concrete…but still…

Saving might’ve been a bad word but crossplay availability would be a massive help for more niche titles

Is that what you tell yourself in the mirror every morning ?
