Speaking of Blizzard’s pandering, did you know that all the characters they said were gay for brownie points are straight in china?
LMAO
I cant believe China has their hand in so many of our country’s businesses. Even the big ones. Like really just bending over and spreading them to appease their commie overlord.
As much as I hate to admit it. Trump was ahead of the curve when he had called out China about a month or two back and began the trade war with them. They are really feeling themselves and flexin out here. They need to be humbled. And American businesses better start looking elsewhere to expand and find labor.
We’ve been trying to ease up on our reliance of China for a long time. Well before Trump ever “tried” to.
But capitalism and the all mighty dollar always win.
Not if the juice isnt worth the squeeze. I actually found myself yesterday shopping at H&M for some clothes for a career fair today. There was a short that would’ve went well with the khakis I bought. But I saw it was made in China. I almost didnt mind it until I remembered Blizzard banning that dude, the Hong Kong protest etc.
Then I decided against it and got another shirt that said made in India. It ain’t much, but I actually refused to support China in that moment. I’m gonna start being more conscious of what I buy and make sure it isnt China made.
Good luck with that, almost everything is made in china, or has stuff made in china, your consoles, tv, smartphone, pc, the parts the car you use, etc, etc, etc.
China has a population of 1.4billion of the worlds 7.7billion. Try as you might, you ain’t gonna be avoiding for long lol
Very true. This isnt the thread for this discussion so I wont go further. But yeah a work force that large and the products they are able to manufacture cant be ignored completely. But something has to be done. They cant just be strong arming companies, and trying to censor people through them.
Too be fair a lot of tech companies are slowly moving out of china. Nintendo, Apple and Sony have opened up factories in Vietnam, Thailand and South Korea iirc.
They prob just going there because it’s cheaper.
China limits the amount of foreign media they let in. So once you’re in, there’s a lot less competition to share the pie with, not to mention its prob one of the biggest pies in the world. Ever wondered why certain films flop everywhere else but China? It’s cause they ain’t got shit else to watch, so they congregate and spend their money on what’s available.
That there is why so many companies are bending over backwards for China. It’s very hard to get accepted into the Chinese marketplace so once they’re in they do everything they can to stay in because it’s so lucrative. Pissing off the government and getting booted out of the country is a big set back no one wants to deal with.
I wonder though if the US and EU dont start saying “its us or them [China]”.
Also with Blizzard insisting on using that stupid app on top of everything else will kill Blizcon
I get that, but at some point. Ya gotta say reputation>money. Unless these companies plan on setting up HQ in China. They better stop kissing their ass and pissing off their main consumer base here in the states
AAA gaming publishers do not care about reputation, because at the end of the day they’re still earning money
Just think - how many controversies have been there around games in the last 5-10 years?
Crunch period stories, lack of unions, unfinished titles, abandoned games, eggregious monetization, legislation, lies, buggy releases, data leaks, false advertisement, the list goes on endlessly
As long as companies like ActiBlizz and EA rake in billions from microtransactions, nothing, bar direct involvement from the government, will have an effect on how they operate in the industry
They are avoiding the tariffs.
I thought there was a decision to delay the tariffs for a bit?
Trump is delaying the tariffs because of the holiday season.
Wow. You know, it’s sad that there’s clearly some artistic talent here. As far as the art style and the bosses, this looks decent. Not as good as Cuphead, but they’re trying. But Shang Tsung couldn’t jack Cuphead’s gameplay the way they did. They had to know how this would go down. But maybe I’m speaking too soon, and they’ll get funded. Still though.
They need to do more to separate it from Cuphead. Prolly too late to change the artstyle, but they could def change the gameplay up and stand on its own
Or not use a jazz soundtrack
Get the fuck outta here
