I mean im buyin both, netplay will make me drop alot of the other games I play. Kof XI is by far the best Kof title in existence IMO, NGBC was the prelude to that greatness.

Took awhile for SNK to find their groove after being revived, those 2 games represent the fruits of their labor. I just feel true fighting games need to atleast experience one of those games

You missed out, NGBC was so good, load times were pretty bad, but other than that, awesome game. So many old school characters we ain’t seen in years show up in it.

And the multiple end bosses are deliciously cruel in typical SNK fashion. 2 of em are pretty much KOF bosses retooled and made cheaper lol

That is a good run down.

I highly recommend checking out Moss and Astrobot though. Those games are incredible. They are examples of experiences that simply are not possible without VR.

For sure. They’re hands down my two favorite snk fighters.

I also enjoyed the Maximum Impacts for all the wrong reasons. Lol

I second the Moss recommendation. The game is amazing. Wish it wasn’t so short.

My buddy came over last night and we were playing on my MAME cabinet for a bit and he put me onto these 2 run and gun games I had never heard of that I thought were worthy of mentioning. I’m sure some of you have heard of em.

First one we played was called Mystic Warriors. Game is basically Sunset Riders but with ninjas. Awesome game.

The second was one he said was not as good and I probably wouldn’t like it, but I liked it a shitload. It was called Wild West Cowboys of Moo Mesa. Apparently it’s based on a cartoon from back in the day. I thought the characters and humor in the game were awesome, as was the art style.

Both highly recommended.

Cowboys of Moo Mesa arcade game had no right being as good as it was when the cartoon was absolute trash.

That is what my buddy was saying, how the cartoon was not well received at all and was dog shit. I just have no clue wtf it even was.

I loved Maximum Impact 2, a janky, but fun broken piece of shit. Reminded me alot of Rival.Schools from a gameplay standpoint

Duke reminds me of the final boss in 14 design wise. lol

I remember enjoying it as a kid. But I have a soft spot for Western stuff and I guess even then the star firing gun, the cow puns and theme song may have gotten to me. Hell I remember enjoying the Native American cowboys in space cartoon with the cyborg horse.

BraveStarr is the cartoon you are thinking of. It was dope as fuck.

Made by the same studio that did the Animated Star Trek and He-Man.

Fun fact not a lot of people may know: MrWizard wrote the strategy guides for both maximum impact games.:rofl::joy:

I only know this because I owned both of them.

Love some classic shmups…

The last shmups I’ve played are pretty much ancient. lol

That one mini-game in Tatsunoko vs Capcom, Raiden Collection on PS1, Musha on Genesis & some game I used to play as a child on Turbo Grafix 16, can’t for the life of me remember what it was

(Special nod to the SHMUP section of Nier Automata, kinda easy but very well done)

The only SHMUP I ever got crazy into was Viewpoint for the Genesis and PSOne. I played the GigaWing games a lot whenever I saw them at the arcades.

But My main goals for arcade hopping was usually fighters, beat em ups and Initial D meet ups.

Oh, and clearing time crisis 2 on one credit if the arcade had it.

I actually no idea Viewpoint was originally an arcade game until my late 20’s. A retrocade I went to regularly had it. Blew my mind. If I wasn’t on Super Turbo, UMK3 or MvC2 I was on viewpoint.

Viewpoints a kinda weird one. Dont hear people talk about Viewpoint much.
