Anthem comes to mind for me.

For the switch specifically: Botw and Fire Emblem Warriors

For PS4 probably Arslan: The Warrior of Legend. It’s a really bad dynasty clone based of a very old manga

After finishing the Witcher series on netflix I finally got off my ass and started playing the games. I’m starting with the Witcher 2. So far so good. It’s a super glitchy game though. I already had Geralt’s hair bug out on me three times now.

ohhhh yeah… another one comes to mind in terms of disappointment… besides Darksiders games and then Anthem… quick ones:

Battle Chasers, man. I was just laughing about this shit with a friend who’s also a big fan of Joe Madureira’s art… funny because we had the same reaction. SERIOUS hype when first hearing about a Battle Chasers video game being made----annnnd instantly crushed hopes when hearing it would be a turn-based thing.

Vampire the Masquerade: Coteries of New York.
BIG hype hearing there was another VtM game that was not only in the works but due out very soon…as in this year… and then I found out the shit was in the ā€œvisual novelā€ (aka–barely counts as a game) category.

oh yeah and another one— Soul Calibur VI. With this franchise…I’m really here for the character creation at this point, and they managed to fuck that up. I’ve mentioned this before…this game actually has to load whenever you change any aspect of the character in the creation process. Just changing from 1 hairstyle to another…or 1 pair of pants to another, etc… it’s a loading screen EACH TIME. It didn’t take long for me to give up on this. If it will be the same thing from here on out (and it will, considering how incredibly lazy that company tends to be with the SC games) then the whole franchise is dead to me. I refuse to tolerate a character creation system that has loading between each change of each specific part of the fucking character.

Biggest Personal Disappointments in Video Games

i. Tekken 7 (It is like I don’t even know you.)

ii. Spec Ops: Stealth Patrol (This is why I avoid most shooters.)

iii. Circus Charlie (The only real way to win is not to play.)

iv. Soul Calibur IV (Talk about a major downgrade in every department.)

v. Devil May Cry 2 (Timed gate switch trials are not fun and neither is anything else about this game.)

vi. Sleeping Dogs (Driving hurts. How can you even call yourself a cop?)

vii. Silent Hill Downpour (You were meant to bring balance to the franchise, not leave it in darkness.)

download is taking forever. is my net slow or somethin?
im not the biggest fan of the reboot 2013? im a fan of the tomb raider trilogy ps2 era prior to the reboot.
(but rn im in a adventure trough jungle mood.)
which is only beaten by the prince of persia trilogy. also ps2 era.
imo. if we are talkin bout gaming trilogies.
tho ico, sotc, and last guardian trilogy can also take that spot but never played last guardian to really put it at top spot.

I hated the driving physics in Sleeping Dogs, it’s easily the worst aspect of that game. Vehicles had no weight to them at all and steering was too sensitive. It’s like they put 90’s arcade racers into a 2010’s GTA clone

I do have to give that one credit for a fantastic art direction with Dracula’s castle. Too bad the future settings were so bland and shitty (along with the aforementioned contrived gameplay additions).

I still don’t get why Konami thought turning Castlevania into a God of War clone was a good idea

It’s clear from the past few years that Konami doesn’t really think, apart from how to make and keep the most cash.

It made for a great game though.

Made for a really good game, thats why.

Wasn’t much of a clone either.

…That’s why the driving was fun in that game.

To be fair, Castlevania: Lament of Innocence predates God of War and even DMC1. If anything, God of War copied Lament of Innocence and Tecmo’s Rygar on PS2.

I can’t call LoS1 or 2 a God of War clone when the same series did God of War gameplay before GoW.

Yeah Lord’s of Shadows games are hardly GOW clones. Hardly.

The first and second games are pretty different from each other themselves, too.

Lement of Innocence came out 2 years after DMC1 bro. DMC1 is 2001, LOI is 2003.

Still predates GOW by two years tho.

A PC that costs 1000-1500 dollars will always outdo a console that costs 400-500 bucks. You don’t need a top dog graphics card to out perform current or even next-gen consoles either, the high-end GPU market is meant for enthusiasts and ballers. For comparison my RX 580 is a 200 dollar card that originally release for 300ish and it’s taking a dump on everything I throw at it.

It’s the sub fees and potential upgrades that cost a lot in the long run.
PS5 400-500 dollars
7-8 years of PS Plus subs-500 bucks(more depending on your region, PS Plus costs 70 dollars a pop here)
PS5 PRO-500 bucks

1500 dollars to keep up to date on consoles these days.
