REmake 1=everyone prefers it and considers it the definitive version of RE1
REmake 2=from what I’ve read most people who’ve played both prefer the original overall, mainly because of all the cuts and changes REmake 2 had. Missing enemies, characters and the story being a bit different, shitty B scenarios compared to the orginal.
R3make. Now since they’re reusing assets like a motherfucker, maybe this will have everything RE3 did and then some. Who knows, though, but it will be cool to see how they implement Mercenaries IF they do.
Oh yeah, for the love of god don’t have Jill run like a dying sloth like Leon and Claire did in REmake 2. I hate how slow you are in that game, it makes backtracking feel like such a slog. By comparison you are speedy gonzales in vanilla RE2 even with tank controls.
Apparently the RE3Make collectors edition is preorderable at GameStop stores. Just not on their dotcom store. Tons of people have been tweeting about it and several gaming people like Wario64, CheapAssGamer and others have been retweeting people who are showing their receipts
The Cell is a beast at number crunching but it blows at pretty much anything else. The SPE’s lack branch prediction and it has poor integer performance.
I very much prefer the original Re2 to the remake, way too much stuff missing and the different routes really didn’t make much of a difference. Saying that I did really love REmake 2.
Im not sure what’s been confirmed or whatever but it’d be great to have multiple escape routes on Nemesis encounters/dangerous situations, basically expanding on the choice system from original 3. Make it real time and a thing you have to figure out.
I’ll say that I think REMake2 is far better than the original…on the first playthrough. But where the original RE2 made its money was on the replay factor. It’s still one of the best games there is when it comes to sheer replayability and the Remake never captured that. I’m not really tight about the stripping of some BOWs as I think the game is actually better off for it, but the B Scenarios were definitely half-assed (considering R3Make seems to have started development in a similar time frame I think we have a good reason as to why now) and the game just isn’t as fun to tear through on repeated tries.
I don’t really knock ReMake 2 completely for that, I think the game is still excellent but it does suffer in that regard to its contemporary.
Alrighty everything is here. Me and my brother put most of it together except for connecting it to the PSU.
I bought a VS650 Corsair PSU. It has 1 4+4 connector, and 2 8pins(6+2.) Now the MOBO needs an 8pin+4pin, and my GPU needs an 8pin+6pin. I feel like I’m going to be short on pins unless I only plug in 1 8-pin into the MOBO, but according to my research the MOBO might not even post unless it has both 8+4 pin connectors. On top of this people are saying it 570 mobos need both pins for stability.
Now I’m going to wait until tomorrow before I start freaking out, but I believe the worst case scenario is me needing to buy a molex to 6pin wire, specifically this:
I’m not going to buy ANOTHER PSU unless I absolutely have to. This PSU is on the list that officially supports my mobo(ASUS X570-p.)
I’m still having a blast replaying through the Remake, hell I have yet to even finish a lot of the free content they added to the game. I feel that same sense of urgency I got in the original trying to clear the entire thing purely off of memory so I can get that sexy ass S rank. Clearing it on Hardcore, with only 3 saves and under an hour and a half provides a pretty worthwhile challenge. I’ve only done it with Leon so far and I’m still trying to get the infinite rocket off of Claire’s, lol.
The toned down B scenario for each character does kinda suck, yeah. They had way more thought put into them in the original. But I’m willing to trade that for all of the incredible aspects the Remake brings to the table. I understand how some wouldn’t be, though.
For me tho, In pretty much every regard, it has to be one of the most faithful yet original re-imaginings of a game I’ve ever seen. I struggle to think of comparisons that even come close.
