…and by extension this Battleborn situation is especially timely/relevant since that piece of garbage known as the Stadia is out.

One other reason you could lose your games just came to mind— legal rights/ownership of the IP—let’s say Capcom put a game on Stadia and you bought it and love that shit. Well, what if the ownership of that IP switches over to another company that does NOT want to continue business with Google? Woops, you can’t play that game anymore then, because the new owner of the IP pulled it off Stadia’s service. Or…what if the original owners of the IP simply decide they no longer want to deal with Stadia anymore…or Google decides they don’t want this game on their service for whatever reason (perhaps it has a certain political or ideological point of view they don’t like; or it has scantily clad female characters which we all know is ā€œoh so terribleā€ these days, and sissy-ass Google doesn’t want to promote such ā€œgross objectification of womenā€ so they remove it…doesn’t matter that you paid for it already.)? These are just some of the scenarios that could play out…all with the same result—you bought the game but now you cannot play it because they said so. It still amazes me that people are ok with that concept.

Sadly, I doubt most gamers are considering any of this. Stadia will likely fail, but most will happily jump on a bandwagon with another streaming-based service eventually.

My younger brother has the same high regard for the show and would love a game, but I personally don’t see it. It is kind of generic in my opinion. However, I received a game for Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple so I can understand the interest (and I would invest in a sequel). I would love a modern high quality Yu Yu Hakusho (non-arena) fighting game myself.

A traditional Arc Systems YYH, One Piece, Bleach or Naruto fighting in the vein of FighterZ would be excellent. Somebody should email them that idea

Of the modern fighting game developers, I think French Bread (of Under Night fame) would be the best suited for creating a Yu Yu Hakusho fighting game. I do not think Arc System Works’ gameplay design would mesh with the IP.

I would consider getting a Naruto Shippuden game by Arc System Works if it does not feature dash buttons and has traditional throws.

P.S. It is weird that Capcom’s fighting game division has fallen so low, because whoever created CPS3’s Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure would be perfect for the kind of games I have in mind.

You understate arc systems. They have proven to be very versatile in the games they develop. They could a grounded street fighter type game as Battle Fantasia showed. Granblue Fantasy versus seems to follow in that direction. They can do arena fighters like the Nura game. They can develop whatever a game needs to be.

Hell yeah. Loved this game. It wasn’t the best by any means but it was ridiculously fun and from my recollection it was fairly balanced too. I played the knight. Marco I think his name was.

Didn’t know Arc System made it tho.

Their modern games tend to be overproduced, have similar paces, have too many general mechanics, and lack the quirkiness to be endlessly enjoyable for anyone but animephiles and those mesmerized by pretty computer graphics. Besides a potential Yu Yu Hakusho game would likely turn out like their Hokuto No Ken game and that would be dull and would get lost in the shuffle.

This channel is so fucking trash lmao

Still hoping Strife gets a regular solo game…eventually.

Me to. I understand the point of the Darksiders project was to get all 4 horseman together in one game but it was also really great getting to know them in their own solo adventures and I will be disappointed is Strife gets left out.

Did anyone play the new killer instinct? It’s on sale for 10 bucks on Steam and it has cross-platform support with suXbox.

If the online is dead even with cross-platform play I’d probably get 10 bucks worth of entertainment from it doing silly combos.

I used to play it pretty hardcore, and bought my original XBox One for it. Season 2 pretty much ruined it for me, with everything being turned into DLC. Stopped playing it before I moved into the house before where I’m at now (late 2017)

It’s an alright game though.

I bought it. There’s no dlc shenanigans like the xbox release, all characters and stages are unlocked off the bat. 10 bucks seems like a great deal.

Just need to build a new Pc to play it.
