Video Game General 6.5: Now with more surprise mechanics

It’s already dead. Google just needs to pull the plug on it now.

Wow almost a whole frame of lag under ideal conditions is unacceptable, especially when we still have to “buy” the games.

I don’t understand how they can even claim the first part when there is literally only one Stadia exclusive title. Not to mention all of those others games play better on other consoles.

Don’t you stream or have the option to stream with PSNow and XBL Gamepass? I’ve never used either so I don’t know the finite details but I’ve never really heard a bad thing about either except PSNow has (had?) a waiting queue for certain games. Which seemed very odd to me when I was first told that.

It doesn’t just look badass. . . . . . It is.

If this is the version of an EA Licensed SW title that you want more of, please support this game. It deserves all the praise it’s getting.

I think it’s how they deal with server overload.

But see how you said whether or not you’d like it? That’s totally different from someone saying they can tell if the game itself is good or not just from watching it. Your own preference could be decided from a single screenshot. I have absolutely no interest in Diablo 4s artstyle so I know I’m good. But that isn’t going to make me say the game itself is bad

Yeah, I’m arguing more from a subjective standpoint than an objective one.

And that’s perfectly sensible IMO.

But Death Stranding still sucks.

And The Last Jedi is the best Star Wars movie ever.

Ps Now has been good for me for over a week now. Got 53 hours in P5. Only thing that sucks is sometimes your connection gets slow(most likely on my end) and the game has to exit in 30 seconds. Forgot to save one time and had to redo about an hour of things.

Also if you are inactive for 15 mins or something the game will close to lower the load.

You def notice input delay though. But it’s a RPG so nbd.

So people can “subjectively” talk shit about a games art direction, gameplay, sound, whatever but can’t actually call it bad?

That seems silly. Especially when this entire thread was shitting on everything regarding the new contra game just a few months ago. Objectively calling it a bad game before anyone even played it and I doubt anyone here has actually played it.

So?

Can’t speak to former, not a Kojima mark. Disagree with the later.

Well Contra looking like a flaming pile of dog shit from a company that doesn’t give a flying fuck anymore so the writing was pretty obviously on the wall with that one. Konami gives 0 reason to have any faith in them after MGSurvive. I also don’t remember most people declaring it a piece of shit just that it deffinitly looked like one. Turns out it was.

DS is made by a respectable developer, banked by Sony, has an actual budget unlike Contra, and clearly had tons of care put into it unlike Contra which was clearly slap dashed together to make a few shackles just like MG Survive.

And again it’s the definitive statement “this is shit” when you haven’t played it that’s the primary source of issue here. “I think it looks like dog shit” would be a different response. Was mine for Contra.

So you’re just going off reputation? Isn’t that the same thing? Bad developers can make great games. Great developers can make shit games.

Well yea rep is a big part of it. It’s not the same, because I haven’t said deffinitly what the quality of the product is just that my gut has more faith in one with a positive rep behind it.

Also yea bad devs can make good games but for every good game they make they probably have 10 dumpster fires under their belt hence them having the rep of being a bad developer. You don’t get that kind of rep making good games. You get it making bad games.

Again the issue is the deffiniveness with which the comment is said, i never said Contra was dog shit when it was shown off. I said it looked like dog shit.

There’s a real clear difference between the two statments.

Uh, yeah. I mean, of course, anyone can do whatever they like. But it doesn’t make any sense AT ALL to call something objectively bad when all the issues are subjective OR they haven’t actually taken the time to really check and see if the issues they believe the game actually has are actually there.

If they haven’t done that then it is subjective, so treating it as objective is of course bullshit.

I promise I have NEVER said the new Contra game itself is bad or plays bad because I have never even touched it. But I probably have said that it looks bad, as in literally how it looks. That and that I have no interest in twin stick shooters.

So just being a stickler for wording.

Gotcha.

No, one is a statement of an opinion, the other is a judgement specifically of a thing. They aren’t the same thing.

Well yea, it’s how we comminucate. The words we use. They are important. Use the wrong words and you say something completely different such as “This is shit” and “this looks like it will be shit” are two totally different statements with two different meanings.

But I have a feeling you know this are just being an ass for the sake of it tho.
