My main MH World save is on Xbox. Wonder how much time I’ve put into it. I feel like I’ve done Safi Jiva alone for over 100 hours lmao.

On PSN its mostly the publishers who run their own servers.
But I seen people get their PSN accounts banned before, Sony have stepped up over the years.

HUNT LIFE BRUH!!!

Man, Monster Hunter World and Iceborne not only surpassed Resident Evil 5, UMVC3, Capcom vs SNK 2 & SF4 as my most played Capcom games ever!!

It beat out RDR1 AND RDR2, BOTW, Arkham City, and the OGs…Super Mario Bros 1 & 3, and Streets of Rage 2!!!

…It is currently my most played game, Ever!!

heh, this brought back that memory of 2018— when Vampyr came out, and I took 3 days off since of course that game was quite a big deal to me… the Thursday/Friday/Monday (the week of 6/15/18)… ohhhh such good times were had. I was reminded of this just the other day when checking my past leave requests (our system saves that info for quite a long time) …but yeah, that whole vacation was planned around that 1 game. That’s how serious my hype was for that one. Day 1 of the vacation I even brought home a pizza, of course…made a whole “event” out of it.

More recently, I took off for when Gears 5 was released…along with Borderlands 3 since I think that was just a few days later…most unfortunate how that turned out… Gears 5 was a damn mess at launch, and B3 so far hasn’t been as interesting as the legendary part 2 was.

sheeeitttt, paid time off is the greatest thing.

How did you like Vampyr? I bought it but haven’t come back to it after putting about 3 hours in.

I absolutely loved this game, and still do. My only complaints are kinda minor:

  • would be nice to have more customization; like at least different clothes/styles for “Dr. Reid”.
  • Some load times were noticeably long.
  • More options on people that could be turned. At least the option IS there in the first place. (ideally, I would’ve loved it if it were an option for MOST of the named characters you meet, with the story going in some drastically different directions depending on who you turned and if they were loyal to you or not.)

I could understand some people not liking it though… I’ve always explained that to people I know that ask…because it may not be your thing if you wanted a game that is more focused on action. (there’s a certain old friend I keep reminding of this, because I know he would likely get bored fast with all the talking, and be like “when do I get to kill shit?” )The action IS there…you do get to fight and kill various enemies, but there is also a LOT of the social/dialogue stuff…a lot of speaking to other characters and finding out more info on their lives (the more you know about a person, the more exp they are worth if you decide to feed on them later.)…then there’s also the balance of trying to keep them healthy if you care enough to do that, since they’re also worth more points if they are healthy.

There’s so many things I enjoyed about this game… I’m still playing it on occasion, both on XB1 and Switch. I always say that in many ways—this was basically the vampire game I’ve always wanted, ever since I was a little kid. One of the big moments was a certain major story revelation that happens about mid-way thru; I didn’t see it coming so it was one of those awesome jaw-dropper moments to see this character suddenly show up and the confrontation that happens.

Sweet. Yeah I actually liked how dialog heavy it is. Helps that the voice acting and narrative are both done pretty well too. I can tell the game will force you to make some tough decisions later on. The very first bum you bump into even had me hesitating on how to decide his fate, lol.

Some visual customization would be super nice, yeah. Even if you could just change hair styles and the color of his overcoat. But the main character design is thankfully pretty good on its own so that’s not a deal breaker for me in this case.

Think I’m gonna re-download this game. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

The Final Fantasy Shrine forum is dead. New place is Squidboard

yeah I would like more story-driven games to have that system like Mass Effect, where the main character is definitely “Dr. Jonathan Reid” or “Commander Shepherd” for example, but the player can alter his/her appearance a bit if they want.

I think they also nailed it perfectly, with making it extremely tempting to feed on people. That gives you way more exp than anything else in the game, even fighting random enemies in the streets… fighting the random vampire hunters might yield something like say… 30 exp, maybe 40 or 50?.. meanwhile, you go feed on a named character, you’re getting something crazy like 3,000+ exp. (but of course with consequence—like not getting a certain ending, or the quality of that part of town going to shit as a result…or another npc that was related to that person leaving since they no longer have a reason to stay in town, or they went out searching for them and got killed, etc. etc…there’s also that emphasis on the consequences of your actions…brilliant stuff, imo)
