brehs. just following up, i finished the evil within 1. jesus that was a tough time. maybe im getting too old for video games. once i levelled up the flash bolts (thx for that advice, huge difference for crowd control) and other weapons in accordance with my combat preferences, it became somewhat more fun. i read reviews afterward and i am in agreement with the prevalent opinion that the story had tons of untapped potential but was poorly executed due to overly cryptic explanations about wtf anything was. if TEW2 has a more consistent enjoyment curve then i might give it a try later on.

more of a tech query now. after TEW1, i upgraded from ps3 at 480i (crt) to ps4 at 1080p (lg ips monitor). im playing uncharted 4 and this is the first time that im using an lcd monitor for a single player game. it is difficult to make out details in the environment unless the camera is stationary. it gets blurred out otherwise. is this normal? i remember that uncharted 1-3 did have a stylized cinematic camera where it would go slightly out of focus during fast rotations, but this seems to apply to ANY camera movement, even when the character is walking slowly. is it just this game or should i be worried about the appropriateness of this monitor. i fooled around with some ā€œgamingā€ response time settings and it didnt seem to help. its really distracting after using a crt for so long. this is officially billed as a ā€œgaming monitorā€ (has pretty low input lag and can run at 75 hz) so i am surprised to encounter issues.

I personally hated what I played of The Evil Within and think 2 is far better in everything. No more matchstick mini inventory bullshit, no more getting tossed around a world without any logical connection, a lot of optional exploration, easily craftable ammo, more polished mechanics, more diverse enemies, a cohesive plot, and more interesting cast make it more immersive than the likes of Resident Evil 4 to me and reminds me of the original Silent Hill games thematically.

Best friends forever is a system seller TBH.

Investor Michael Burry (famous for shorting subprime mortgages before the recession) is buying Gamestop stock and going long. Perhaps in preparation for the holiday season?

Another Platinum Title that has me interested. Still haven’t got a Switch yet. Once I heard there was a revision coming out I put the brakes on getting one. Now there is pretty much a Transformers release monthly that’s keeping my disposable income at bay. . . . . . and then Hawaii for the anniversary. Guess a Switch will be a Black Friday purchase. Hopefully my house gets rented out by then. Some of the profit contributes to my wants pile

Anyone tried Remnant out yet? I see very few things that bother me. So far it’s pretty much just the randomly generated levels looking a little too similar.

Other than that, you got a Third person RPG looter shooter with open exploration and a kind of Dark Tower style aesthetic. Thinking about picking it up today. ACG as always covered everything important. I didn’t even know this existed before last week.

Thanks! We are… Hungry.

Also, the free Alpha for Modern Warfare starts today. It’s that new 2v2 mode on smaller sized maps. Looked really fun, I’ll be checking it out.
