So apparently, the new NFS will not have loot boxes.
This is actually the second game EA has stated won’t have them after Jedi Fallen Order.
Of course it won’t have lootboxes. It will have surprise mechanics instead.

Anyone played Salt and Sanctuary? Someone just mentioned it to me and I saw a video of it and I am intrigued. I’d be curious to hear opinions on it.

It’s a good 2d metroid castlevania type thing if you can get past the (IMO) horrible art. It’s not super amazing but it’s pretty cool.

I watched some more videos of it and don’t think it’s for me. I don’t like how much customization there is. The menus seem like there is a ton of crap to setup and I just don’t feel like dealing with any of that lol.
I’m looking for other suggestions though on good metroidvania games. I just finished Ori and the Blind Forest on X1 and want another one to play.

Bought it years ago and still haven’t gotten more than 4 or 5 hours in. That probably says more about it than I ever could.
Not a bad game, but as someone who holds Souls games in such high regard and having already played those to death, there wasn’t much I found it offered me that I didn’t already get with those games. And usually better too.
I will say, I actually like the artstyle as it reminds me of another game they made: Dishwasher Dead Samurai. Which is a much more straightforward action type side scroller that makes much better use of the assets and artstyle in my opinion. Much prefer that game overall, honestly.
If it’s under ten bucks, I say give it a shot if you like that type of thing. It’s got offline couch CO OP, which I always thought was a really neat feature. But, to be painfully honest, your money is much better spent on something like Hollow Knight. Which I’m currently playing through finally and falling in love with.

I really don’t know why that’s the case…its directly from xseeds youtube channel.
They just have it set to not be playable outside of youtube. It’s an actual setting.

Yea Hollow Knight is a much better game then Salt & Sanctuary imo. Much more fun to explore and discover world, and tighter more demanding combat.

That’s what I meant by more fun to explore and discover stuff in. The world’s beautiful in its decrepidness while S&S is just…brown and grey and smudgy and ugly.
