I’m more specifically referencing people who refuse to touch anything Xbox but have no problem giving Microsoft money to play those same games on PC. Wasn’t specifically referencing anyone here but some of these comments do remind me of the sentiment.

I don’t see how Microsoft loses when you bought a PC with their operating system on it to play a game developed by their studios. Sure, maybe they didn’t get you to buy an Xbox. But I’d argue getting you to use a platform with their operating system, let alone buying a game created by one of their studios, is better than not using any of their products whatsoever.

When you spend millions developing a platform no one buys it’s a problem regardless of your other divisions.

Don’t know exactly what the #1 in hardware is quite yet…but considering that 6 of the top 10 games are Switch exclusive titles I’m going to guess that it’s probably that unless Dat Madden 20 really made people go out and buy PS4/Xbones.

Also want to mention that Fire Emblem Three Houses is the 2nd highest selling Fire Emblem in the series now…It’s just under Awakening. It’s also the largest launch of a Fire Emblem game in US History.

MK 11 Life time sales are now the second highest in franchise history, with MKX still holding the top spot. MK 11 is now the 5th best selling fighting game in history.

I’ve only seen that Rumble Fish once in my life. It was at an arcade at a mall in a town called Auburn which was about 30 minutes south of Seattle. I only saw it ONCE. When I went back a few weeks later it was gone.

More like most of last gen until new gen was right around the corner… like 11-12. Then a few multiplats were supposedly better.

And im quite sure x1x games > pro. So yeah this gen.

And why would anyone want to play PC games online. The current gen console don’t allow cheating, unless the game has glitches to take advantage of. On PC you can mod, and it affects everyone. Playing Friday the 13th…well Jason could run faster than a counselor if you want. Plus typical console games are near dead online on PC.

I’m just saying. PC is for single player games.

Honestly I think it’s for the better of the Xbox brand (and to a certain extent Microsoft as a company) as a whole. This generation has clearly shown that the Green Squad cannot compete with Sony in terms of exclusivity library, and even despite having quite a few of those at launch (whereas PS4 had no gaems for the first year or so) - the quality heavily varied between utter shit like Ryse and great comebacks like Killer Instinct.

The other exclusives either stayed as dead IPs (Project Gotham Racing, Too Human etc), or were paid for (e.g. Tomb Raider 2013), or simply aren’t enough to push the systems to customers (e.g. Sunset Overdrive)

They can boast about having the “most powerful console ever” all the want, but without the software to support it - the hardware is irrelevant. What, they want people to pay 500$ to play Xbox and Xbox 360 remasters in 4k? (and that’s not to mention that the discless Xbox One S obviously can’t read your past gen games for you to download them digitally, which is another feature completely absent from that model)

So in light of all of that, they went on a studio purchase spree to try and strenghten the Xbox brand somehow, at least for the time being, but IMO their ultimate goal is to be everywhere, hence the Game Pass program and the Project xCloud service. They want to be truly multiplatform, whereas Sony are going strong with a massive first party selection and Nintendo have basically gone their own way starting with WiiU
