Video Game General 6.3: Sekiro has so many damn chickens man. Chickens Everywhere!

Nobody is trying to parry that shit.

We’re just lazily jumping in at this point.

Didn’t ask for a rebuttal. Just stating an opinion on a game that’s getting a lot of recent chatter.

Whatevs.

It is impossible to offer one.

Simon’s Quest is too much butthole to counter.

I don’t see it taking off with net neutrality being dead. US internet is still trash and current telecommunication companies have no incentive to improve it. Not to mention genres like fighters, action games, FPS or anything else that twitch response and timing will be crippled by lag. If it means playing Candy Crush without needing new hardware then it’s good for those folks.

Fair enough. That seems like a fairly universal consensus. I’m just saying there are a few of us out there who like the game, warts and all.

I know it’s not perfect, but I still liked playing it.

I see you, chad.

Unlike a lot of Benjamin Franklin’s sluts, evidently.

But you both have a similar “Put a bag over her head and go to town” sort of mentality. :coffee:

And not in the good, asphyxiation sort of way.

Relevant to all this streaming talk.

What is this manga and why does it have this insanely detailed artwork?

I just try not to let the bad ruin the good.

Simon’s Quest has very similar core gameplay as the original Castlevania. You walk around and kill fuckers with your badass whip and shit. And holy water.

But the thing that makes the game stand out most to me is the music. When I think of Simon’s Quest I automatically start humming Bloody Tears, or that funky track that plays in the town, or the bouncing castle music. That shit is fucking classic.

I have a pretty deep connection with music, and when I like a particular song it can really mold my perception of an event, a time, a movie, and absolutely it effects how I respond emotionally to video games. And that’s what I think of first when anyone mention’s Simon’s Quest- that amazing music. And that triggers a positive emotional, and nostalgic response.

Fuck. Now I want to go play that shit. At least until you get to the stupid cliff where you have to press down for five minutes until the tornado comes. WTF.

“Wait” =/= kneel down and pray, Japan.

The problem with that video is that he’s either talking out of both sides of his mouth (I. E. complaining that it’s too easy whole bitching about losing all his hearts) or complaining that Simon’s Quest isn’t CV1. Grinding for hearts isn’t even a thing once you realize you can skip buying half the items in game and that the best weapons are usually found ones.

Again I understand the issues people have with the translation and that the game is vague, but complaining that the day/night transition takes too long is indicative of how spoiled gamers are nowadays and how hivemind everyone is regarding games just because some cheesedick YouTuber who yells a lot put out a video saying he didn’t like the game and a lot of people watched it.

Defend Deborah.

Please, do.

Dennou Kakugi Mephisto Waltz

No idea what it’s about though.

That’s a translation error I think. But I agree, there’s no way I would have figured that one out without a guide. I can’t figure out if the game would have been as vague with a proper translation or not.

The funny thing is, AVGN actually likes the game.

I agree, Simon’s Quest has a really great OST even iutside of the obvious classics. I love the music that plays in the mansions and in Dracula’s castle!

I know, which is what makes a lot of the SQ hate really ironic.

It makes pressing into solid rock for 3 seconds straight in order to discover the existence of illusory walls on the second run in Zelda 1 seem sane and well reasoned.

Did a quick Google search and it seems to be a FGC focused manga from a description I read. This is the type of series I check out just for the artwork.
