Video Game General 6.3: Sekiro has so many damn chickens man. Chickens Everywhere!

PSNow has been around for several years now and has been available on Sony consoles, smart TVs, and bluray players and they theoretically could have also put it on smartphones if they wanted to. It has a great library of ps2,ps3, and ps4 games as a subscription service or on a pay per game basis. And the number one reason it never did take off was due to this: LAG.

I would be very surprised to see Stadia thrive despite it having lag.

Stadia feels like the VR hype couple years ago. Shits going die off even faster.

I hope the Stadia crashes and burns as hard as possible. It will bring a smile to my face if it fails harder than Waterworld at the box office back in the day. That is such a horrible idea for so many reasons, man… the very idea it represents is a scourge that should be stopped dead in its tracks if anyone truly cares about this particular form of entertainment.

They haven’t revealed all the titles in each collection, they are keeping them a secret for some reason.

If it is, prepare to play one of the best 2D action/platformers ever!!

I don’t see any hype for this. Stadia is pretty much the next incarnation of OnLive and it never managed to get a foothold. The factors holding this back is far larger than VR.

Bullshit.

Large input windows, as you say, will fucking flat out kill the concept of fighting games, as well as any other genre that requires timing, input consistency, situational awareness, etc, et al, RE: actual video games.

Might as well just play timer-less chess at that point.

The only reason people hate Simon’s Quest is because of the bad translation, which is somewhat understandable. Simon’s Quest is actually a pretty great game and if Konami retranslated it so that it was closer to the Japanese, it would be an act of good faith and probably show people outside of Japan why it’s generally pretty highly regarded in Japan.

Reason I say console dying other than the market and absolute abuse their customers.

Consoles used to be very different hardware from a PC, Computers was very generalized hardware and back in the day their games have a lot of hardware restrictions, while consoles games have effects and sounds that are hardware driven.
Early computer games could not scroll, lacked sprite support, very limited color pallets, and have basic sounds. Fast forwards to now, the line between PC and console is blurred, consoles are consoles in NAME only. The PS4 and Xbox One, they are Low end PCs with locked down hardware.

The Switch is the only left console that still feels like a Console.

No. The horrible translations is just one of the many (and I mean many) reasons I hate Simon’s Quest.

There does exist a fan translation of Simon’s Quest that’s actually pretty bangin.

What are the other reasons?

Yeah. Simons Quest Redacted or something like that. Totally rewrites the dialog so it makes fucking sense, added new dialog, and got rid of the transition between night and day. Tons of QoL improvements as well.

Polish a turd it’s still a turd though.

This just scratches the surface of why I don’t like it.

I think once internet connections improve, streaming will be the thing. You won’t have to buy any new hardware anymore and it’ll be just like Netflix where your subscription fee lets you play anything and everything available on what you have. In the US were approaching that point, but they’re probably already there in other countries.

I’m hoping this Google streaming service takes off because I bet I the next 5 or so years, we’ll all be subscribed to game streaming services, and while Google can be real iffy with what they provide, this might be the shit thst finally takes us over the threshold.

I love Simon’s Quest. Awesome music, really fucking cool aesthetics in the castle areas, night and day shift with changing difficulty and music is cool as fuck. I had a lot of fun playing that game. Great classic NES game.

Modders will fix it, console edition.

You know most of the US dont have high speed broadband.
And it be like Netflix, your ISP will throttle down your connection speeds.

If I am giving money for a game, I better have said game. if not in a physical format, it better be on my Hard drive or SD card.
